Love to Death

In the remote town in Dacalan, Tanudan, there was the most beautiful lady that
whose name was Lupting. She was the only child of Kamu and Usa-ay. Other than
being beautiful, she was also kind, hard-working, polite and loving daughter. Because
of her beauty, all the youth in Dacalan was her suitor. They fantasize Lupting being
their wife who will cook and take care for them. But in vain, they did not succeed.
Her beauty reached to the ears of Finsay ng Luplupa, Tinglayan. Finsay was
considered as a strong, brave, tall and elegant warrior of LupLupa. Like Lupting, he
has many maiden wanting to be his husband but also like Lupting, he did not accept
them until he heard about Lupting in Dacalan and her beauty. He did everything just
to see who Lupting was.

One day, Finsay climbed Dacalan and immediately recognized Lupting harvesting
rice in their rice field. Because of the unique beauty of Lupting, all the worry and
tiredness of Finsay were gone. As well as Lupting, when she saw Finsay all her worry
and tiredness disappeared. Finally, Finsay already found his dream woman who was
kind, hard-working, loving and beautiful.

The two met by chewing moma. They understood how they felt. And that same
day Finsay asked for Lupting's hand. So, they went home to Dacalan so that Lupting
could formally introduce the parents to Finsay. Lupting's parents happily welcomed
Finsay and thanked that their daughter had finally found her life partner.

Many youth were jealous of Finsay’s arrival because Lupting chose him as his
husband. In that day too, the parents of Lupting decided to celebrate and ordered
the townspeople to kill 5 pigs. The next day before they will seperate, they promised
to each other that they will meet in Mount Taungay after a week so that Finsay can
bring Lupting home in LupLupa to meet his family. In the trip home, Lupting
accompanied Finsay until in the tip of the mountain. Many youth were happy
because of the separation of the two. Many also wished that Finsay will never come
back.

When the appointed day came for their meeting at the top of Mount Taungay,
Lupting climbed up full of joy and energy on her lips. Meanwhile, while Finsay was
preparing to climb Mount Taungay, there was a sudden attack by the people of
Tulgao on Luplupa, so all the men prepared to fight the warriors of Tulgao. Many
died in both tribes and Finsay did not survive the casualties. Because Finsay knew
that he would not be able to go to what he and lupting had talked about, he told his
brother to go to Lupting at the top of Mount Taungay and say that he would not be
able to go.

Meanwhile, Lupting had arrived but was sad when there was no sign of Finsay
there. Also in that time, the brother of Finsay arrived and said the sad news about
Finsay to Lupting. Lupting seemed to be covered by the sky and land. She did not
expect that her Finsay will never be by her side forever. The brother of Finsay
decided to accompany Lupting back home and comfort her about what happened
When they reached home, the people were curious and worried about why Lupting
was crying and coming back home without Finsay. They told everyone what
happened to Finsay and everyone was shocked and sad even the youth because they
did not what this to happen to someone young.

The next morning, the people were just surprised because the former mountain
of Taungay was now in the shape of a woman.Finsay's brother said that the shape of
the woman was none other than Lupting who loved Finsay. Here ends the story of
Finsay and Lupting that even in death their loved ones do not separate from each
other.
