Your materials for a sustainable construction.

EDITORIAL

Do you wish to build or renovate your

home without compromising?
To not have to make the choice between comfort and respect for your health, your family’s
health or our planet? This is the challenge taken up by the IsoHemp engineering team who
are actively working on the development of innovative and unique products to enable the
design of your future home. With IsoHemp, you will no longer have to choose between
thermal, acoustic or humidity comfort because we offer a quality solution to respond to your
environmental concerns.

To reach this goal, six years ago we created IsoHemp, the industrial manufacturer of products
for sustainable construction. The company quickly specialised in the production of a block
with appealing technical features and which meets the challenges of tomorrow: the hemp
block IsoHemp was born.

Intended for insulating buildings, it is ideal for regulating temperature, humidity and noise
pollution. Thanks to its high inertia, it is capable of sustainably storing heat in the house and
radiating it over several hours. Its excellent hygrometric capacity helps maintain a stable
humidity level inside the dwelling thereby avoiding an uncomfortable too dry or too humid
environment. In addition, its mass and highly porous nature prevents the reverberation of
most airborne noises and accordingly makes it possible to obtain unparalleled acoustics.

In addition to its excellent technical performance, the hemp block also offers exceptional
standards of health and environmental quality. It complies perfectly with the most stringent
requirements in terms of sustainable development: it is manufactured using a very energy-
efficient production process from 100% natural materials (lime and hemp), sourced from
local industries. Better still, building or insulating your house with hemp blocks enables the
sustainable storage of over 2 tons of atmospheric CO2, so a (very) positive carbon footprint!

LINTELS
For all openings
IsoHemp lintels are prefabricated hemp concrete lintels strengthened by a
reinforced concrete centre used for door and window openings in hemp block
masonry construction. They are ideally suited for new build and interior and exterior
renovations. They enable the elimination of thermal bridges and the achievement
of an encompassing and continuous insulating envelope . IsoHemp lintels are
available in thickness of 9cm, 12cm, 15cm, 20cm and 30cm and in various lengths.

› HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR LINTEL?

Depending on the required thickness and the window opening to be covered, you PRODUCT ON
will find the appropriate lintel in the table below. It is imperative to always provide a ORDER
minimum bearing length of 20cm on either side of the window for openings up to Delivery time of 15 workdays
2m. For openings over 2m, a 30cm support is required on each side. For walls that
are 30cm thick you can use a U block to create two concrete beams of 60cm in
length each and thus reduce the length of support to 15cm on each side of the bay.

The choice of lintel is therefore as follows: opening to be covered + (2 x 20cm or

30cm) = minimum length of the lintel.

The use of brackets is advised to maintain hemp blocks above doors and windows
when an IsoHemp lintel is not being used. This solution should be favoured in
interior renovation mainly when the height to be insulated above the bay is low
and there are only a few rows of blocks to be laid. The bracket can also be used as
a link between two long thin lintels as well as to distribute and support the load in
some applications.

The use of angle bars is recommended when laying the first row of hemp blocks

alternative to a base (silica-limestone, cellular glass, etc.) when there is no adequate
