• RCCL’s port agent insisted it can be done
• Customs Officers turned down the port agents request
• Enormous storages incurred and shipment was held until charges have been paid
• Upon request of proof from port agent and/or customs no documents could be
provided

 Required Changes from KN’s perspective

• Conscious government pro-reforms to eliminate corruption

• Constant rotation of customs officers (non-regular-roaster – Changes can be 1
month or 2 months or 3 months, its not defined)
• Implementation of online customs & pre-clearance
• Higher wages to government employees
• Anti-Corruption agencies – actively monitoring the situation
• We have seen negligible shipments pass through red lane
