The Evolution of Video Conferencing Software Associated with Online

Learning
In this day of age, a lot of people in this world are more on video conferencing instead of doing
face-to-face meeting because of the COVID-19 situation and the tragedy that has been going
until now. Many students like us continue to use this online conferencing software in order for us
to communicate with one our teachers, our friends, our classmates and our family to
understand, know the situation, and learn the things they are discussing for us.
For a lot of people right now who still have no idea what video conferencing software is, video
conferencing software enables online communication for audio meetings, video meetings, and
seminars or what they now called as “webinar,” with built-in features such as chat, screen
sharing, and screen recordings in order to look back at the meeting happened few minutes or
hours ago. These applications are implemented to enable long-distance or international
communication, enhance collaboration, and lastly, it reduces travel costs. It also allows two or
more persons to talk and see each other remotely from different locations like at home, at the
office, school or in a different country.
As you may know, Video conferencing has grown from person-to-person communication with
black still video to multi-party transmissions with almost 4K resolution in real-time. A lot of
students these days mostly use this video conferencing software like Google Meet, Skype,
Zoom Meetings, Google Hangouts or even at our Facebook Messenger. That’s how technology
work right now in these days, they continue to evolve because of this time of pandemic, they
want to upgrade their software, features, accessibilities, etc. Video conferencing is used in
online learning in many ways and a lot of advantages like content sharing: it gives teachers and
students the ability and access to share documents, files and presentation in real time, instead
of just using any non-video conferencing software like Google Classroom, which is also
important for all students. Next is connect with participants: social distancing and distance
learning can lead to feelings of isolation, which is good for any students or teachers to avoid
getting affected from COVID-19. Third is engaging others: in addition to unite with students and
teachers about the lectures our teachers given to us. Finally, is interaction and collaboration:
one of the biggest benefits to see here for education is that it encourages students to motivate
themselves in their learning experience while being at home and not going outside of home.
Now for disadvantages: it shows network connectivity issues, organizing data, policy creation
and virtual meeting security.
This conclude that having video conferencing software has changed the face of education and it
continues to evolve every single day for most schools like Philippines or in different other
countries. This is highly beneficial for most students who are not into face-to-face class or very
slow learners. This also conclude that it is the best way to communicate for larger organizations
which is very great for a lot of individuals.
