The Advantages and Disadvantages of Online Learning 

Edmodo, Google Classroom, and Schoology are some of the platforms that have
been used as a tool for online learning. Nowadays, online learning has become
popular along with the advance of technology. The rapid uses of social media make it
easier for people especially students and teachers to connect without have to meet
face to face. However, the method of online learning runs not without any flaws,
although it makes some aspects more convenience but there are also some
disadvantages about it. People should know first what the pro and cons about online
learning are before making a decision to use it or not. Hence, people can avoid some
failures that can happen while using online learning. 

For the busy people, online learning can solve their time issue. while working in
the office, they still can manage having their learning with online method. Online
learning is able to provide them a flexible schedule from any location through internet
connection and there are many options of colleges that provide online educations
which can be found in the internet. As an example, in Indonesia, since 2008, Binus
Online Learning programme has served as a modern learning platform for working
professionals that uses a Learning Management System (LMS) as the base of its
online courses implementation. It serves as one of the success evidences of online
learning. Online learning also becomes one of the solutions of education that can be
adopted in time when there is a world crisis such as Coronavirus pandemic that
people have been facing now, they can attend the online class from home or any
other location in order to implement social distancing. 

However, this method of online learning, needs a good time management. While
it has flexible time, for someone who cannot manages their time well will face an
abundant assignment in the time of the deadline. Most of online learning use video
call through social media such as Skype, Zoom, Google Hangout or Google Meeting
for the lecturing time. if you do not have a good internet connection, you will not be
able to join the lectures smoothly as a result they will fail in understanding most of the
lectures. If it happens, how people can get through the whole education without
having understand the content of the lecture. People who unable to understand
lecture in online class will suffer a failure in the end of online class.  

In short, having an understanding about advantages and disadvantages of online

learning will give you some considerations to take before deciding to take an online
class. While it gives you a convenience time schedule, it can be a disaster if you
cannot manage your time well. Make sure you have a good internet connection
before joining an online education.
