1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Airside safety performance indicators for JUNE 2014 revealed that KIA has performed
within acceptable levels of safety in most areas. However, special attention should be given to
the reduction of taxiway/apron incursions, aircraft damages caused by airport facilities, wildlife
hazards and bird strikes.
2.0 AIRSIDE SAFETY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS - KIA
The following measures should be put in place to reduce the hazards identified for the month
under review.
1. Overgrown weeds and other bird and wildlife attractants should be cleared regularly

Markings should be provided to indicate emergency vehicle holding positions at the new RFFS
station. This is to ensure that emergency vehicles do not infringe the runway safety areas whilst
holding position.
The general airside signage at KIA does not meet the standard and recommended practices of
the CAA regulations. The KIA Signage plan under the Phase III project should be implemented as
soon as possible.

directed PW to correct all breeches.
Plan of Construction procedures for the Fuel Main Works were submitted for
