PEH module 3

Lesson 1
What I Have Learned
1. Summarize your learning about the importance of proper nutrition and
balanced diet.
- A healthy diet is all about feeling good, having more energy, improving your
health, and improving your mood. Good nutrition, physical activity, and
maintaining a healthy body weight are all important components of a person's
overall health and well-being.
There is no doubt about the importance of eating healthy food in your life. You
may be prone to diseases, infection, or even exhaustion if you do not maintain a
proper diet for a healthy body. The importance of nutritious food for children, in
particular, must be emphasized, as they may otherwise be predisposed to a
variety of growth and developmental issues. Heart disease, cancer, stroke, and
diabetes are some of the most common health problems caused by a lack of a
balanced diet.
Being physically active helps to manage and improve many health issues.

What I Can Do
Answer:
As a student, I can stay healthy by eating fruits and vegetables, following a
balanced diet, sleeping on time, exercising regularly, drinking plenty of water,
and eating healthy foods.
Eating healthy foods is extremely beneficial to our overall health. When we talk
about healthy foods, we should avoid salty foods, foods with a lot of
preservatives and seasonings, fatty foods, and so on because these foods can
put our health at risk by causing organ failures and triggering diseases.
Lesson 2
Activity 2. OMG!
1. Early in the morning, check the color of your urine and know your hydration
status
based on the Hydration Status Chart above.
2. Continue observing and record the status after urination. Are there any
changes in
the color?
3. Use the table below for this activity

Time Hydration status Interevention

Ex. Ex. Ex.

(5:00 am) Severely dehydrated Drink one glass of water

9 am Hydrated Drink 1-2 glass of water

12nn Hydrated Drink 1 glass of water

6pm Well hydrated Drink half or 1 glass of

water

What I Can Do
1. As a student, what can you do to keep hydrated? How are you
going to
impart to your family the knowledge you learned from this lesson?

- I have started drinking a lot more water recently. As

students, we tend to over work and get tensed over
academics and other activities. More often caffeine comes to
rescue. But it damages our body when taken in excess and
leaves us dehydrated. I got myself a very nice water bottle 1l,
it cost me a bit from my pocket money but I consider a good
investment. I take my phone everywhere with me so I thought
why not take my bottle too. So no matter where I am,
upstairs, downstairs, outside, studying, watching TV, going for
a walk or even simply lying down I have my bottle with me. To
relax, I sometimes add some jasmine or Jeera to my water.
I've heard that ginger and basil are also tasty. I'll give it a shot
soon. Some people like to include fruits in their dishes.
Personally, I don't like it. It's great that you've become aware
of such an important but often overlooked factor as
hydration.

Now about convincing my family, I have to say I haven't really

thought about it. But I could convince my sister to sleep
during night and not use phone late into night backing it with
scientific studies and research I read about. If I feel like my
family members aren't taking Hydration seriously, then I will
keep reminding them and they already know I take my water
seriously. Also I'll back it with some research findings. Because
Hydration is super important.

Lesson 3
What’s More?
Activity 2. WHAT TIME IS IT?
1. For one week, observe your sleep pattern.
2. Record the times you go to bed and wake up.
3. Use the table below for this activity

Day Time of going to Time of waking Number of hours

bed up
monday 11:15pm 7:12 am 7 hours and 57
minutes
tuesday 10:10 pm 8:05 am 9 hours and 55
minutes
wednesday 11:35 pm 8:30 am 9 hours
thursday 10:05 pm 7:55 am 9 hours and 50
minutes
friday 12 pm 9 am 10 hours
saturday 11:35 pm 8:35 am 9 hours
sunday 11:10 pm 9 am 11 hours

4. Describe your sleeping pattern. Are there any improvement? What

lessons did
you learn from this activity? Write your observations below.

My sleeping pattern is irregular, and I do not adhere to a strict

schedule. nope. There have been no improvements. If I go to bed at
nine o'clock, I'll wake up around two a.m. I wake up at noon if I sleep
later than that.

Activity 3
1. Write an essay about the importance of getting enough sleep.
ESSAY

Sleep is one of the most essential and inevitable things that we have
to do in our lives. Whether you eat food or drink water, sleep is
inevitable because it’s what the body does naturally. Sometimes it
can be tough to get a full night’s sleep, but it is imperative to try.
We can deny nothing about the fact that there are three things we
need to improve our lives – a good diet with tonnes of nutrition, an
exercise routine, and, of course, a good night’s sleep every day. These
are the three things that are very imperative in our lives to inculcate
and follow. Sleeping well has impressive health benefits, such as
improving our cardiovascular health and preventing obesity, which
even come a lot of other problems. A balanced diet filled with
nutritious foods helps us remain fit and healthy, and a good exercise
plan will be good for the same, too. Sleeping enough also helps us out
with our strength and performance during exercise. Thus, it is a good
cycle that we should create for ourselves.
There are several benefits of getting a good sleep at night. It helps you
maintain your body weight so that you do not become obese and add
to this; there’s also the fact that people who sleep well at night often
eat less than those who don’t, which also helps with the weight.
Getting adequate sleep also increases your productivity by making
you feel more energetic and giving you the time you need to rest. It
also helps our lives be in a good mood, and good sleep puts a person
in a good mood. Sleeping enough also allows our minds to function
correctly and in a better way. Thus we can think better, and we also
have a better memory power upon sleeping enough.

What I Have Learned?

Reflection:
1. Write a reflection on how nutrition, hydration and relaxation play
vital roles in your life especially when doing recreational activities
with your loved ones. Write your answer below.

-
Nutrition is extremely important in our daily lives. Food and liquids
have an impact on our bodies and health because each food and
liquid contains specific nutrition that is essential for our physical and
mental growth. A certain level of any particular nutrition is required
by our body. So we should know what foods we should eat, how
much we should eat, and what type of nutrition each food contains.
When we consume food or liquids, our bodies digest and absorb the
simple but essential minerals, vitamins, fats, proteins, carbohydrates,
fats, and water from these foods or liquids, converting them into
bloodstream and energy that help our bodies grow and stay healthy.

The nutritional value is more important for the health of any
individual. When we consume food or liquids, it has an impact on our
bodies and our health. As a result, it is critical that we become more
aware of the foods and liquids we consume on a daily basis. A large
number of diseases are caused solely by poor dietary habits. Some
diets may cause disease or change the course of a known disorder.
