Guidelines in HCI (tutorialspoint.com)

• Write an essay at least five (5) sentences explaining why you selected that specific set of
guidelines to evaluate the website.
- I chose this set of rules because I think they can be applied to any form of website, including
social networking, streaming, and other websites. These rules can cover the majority of criteria
when analyzing a website. Although incomplete, some factors do help. Depending on the
website you are developing or reviewing, you can add criteria.
• Answer the following questions.
a) If you were going to develop an emergency mobile application, what HCI and category
would you use as guideline in the design and development of the application? Why?
- I will choose the GUI because this one is the most difficult to overcome when it
comes to application because there are many sizes and dimension of screen. And
also, the navigation keys must have an easy access since the smartphones today are
not quite big than before so I have to plan an advancement for the user interface
before developing backends, where the keys are easy to navigate.

b) If you were assigned to design and develop the interface of learning management
system for a university, what HCI criteria and category would you use as guideline in the
design and development of application? Why?
- I would prioritize the user with disability and platform because blind and deaf
people also have a room for learning. People with low vision can maximize fonts,
blind access the text to speech / speech to text engine, and the deaf can learn by
reading and seeing pictures. They can hear tutorials, or watch learning videos with
captions.
c) If you were developing the interactive interface of a video editing tool, what HCI criteria
and category would you use as guideline in the design and development of the
application? Why?
- If I were to design an interactive interface for a video editing program, I would use
data input and information display. Using these characteristics, it might be both
educational and interesting. For instance, a quick description and possibly even a
quick example of how to utilize a certain object or tool inside the interface would be
displayed merely by pointing the mouse at it. Additionally, it would be a helpful tool
to help students who have never edited before master the foundations of editing
without the help of a pro or teacher. For many people who want to learn how to
edit videos, it will also be a great learning tool.
