 Evaluating website is not a joke, this is the first time I tried this thing. I choose the above guidelines as it
provides a wholesome guideline in evaluating a website. As web design, it is important because it impacts how
your audience perceives your brand. The impression you make on them can either get them to remain on your
page and learn about your business or leave your page and turn to a competitor. Using a four by four guidelines
strategy ease my work as it gives the most basic guidelines in evaluating websites.

Key Questions:
a. If you were going to develop an emergency mobile application, what HCI criteria and category would
you use as a guideline in the design and development of the application? Why?

If I were going to develop an emergency mobile application, the HCI criteria and category would
be, Platform Type under the category of Mobile Device. As based on the question, it should be an
emergency mobile application which I think the Platform Type would be the most relevant. In addition,
as it states “emergency”, first thing I should consider is the usability as smartphones are widely used
nowadays. It includes fast status of information especially regarding the network connection and
services. Usability and other user experience of mobile devices and applications have become more
important.

b. If you were assigned to design and develop the interface of a learning management system for a
university, what HCI criteria and category would you use as a guideline in the design and development
of the application.

If I were assigned to design and develop the interface of a learning management system for a
university, the HCI criteria and category would be, User Type under the category of Accessibility. As
the role of a Learning Management System varies depending on the university’s objectives and desired
outcome, I should come up with ideas that meet those roles. With easy content management, especially
for compliance, it is up to the standards of online learners and instructors as it is easily accessible from
mobile devices as well.

c. If you were developing the interactive interface of a video editing tool, what HCI criteria and category
would you use as a guideline in the design and development of the application? Why?

If I were developing an interactive interface of a video editing tool, the HCI criteria and category
would be, Applications under the category of Design and Editing. Video editing tools are in great
demand to produce the perfect scene. In this project my main goal of interface design is to define a set of
interface objects and actions that can be understood by users, so that people can easily produce the
perfect scene. It’s my job to organize and present all the features in that way so that everyone can do
video editing effectively and intuitively.
