2. What pop culture icons/events are the most significant to you growing up, which
you treasure until today and why?

- The most significant pop culture that influences be are cartoons like Doraemon,
Detective Conan, Dora, Spongebob, and Mythology cartoon in channel 5 before these
cartoons/anime have significance in my life for example Spongebob taught me to be
optimistic and always look for the goodness of a person and learn to be treasure my
friends while Doraemon taught me that though you are not the best person there will
be a person who will still be there for you just like Doraemon to nobita while Detective
Conan taught me to be observant and rational while Dora taught me to the important
of friendship and lastly is mythology cartoon makes me love the Greek and Roman
mythology. While some of pop culture icons still treasure are the wattpad characters
like Top of talk back an you’re dead, Ava of Ava Maldita, Eya of Diary ng panget
though they are fictional character I learned some lesson form them and they really
me happy during my teenager year. And akso the k-drama from ABS-CBN and GMA
before that makes me hooked to Korean culture and motivate me to take Tourism
Management course in college, now so in future I hope I can go to South Korea and
visit some of k-drama film sites. Because form watching k-drama I learned lot such as
some medical term, legal term and I become familiar to Korean language.

3. Do you think you learned from the pop culture icons/events you discussed earlier?
If yes, what are the lesson you learned with these growing up?

- Yes, I’ve learned from the pop culture icons/events I’ve discussed earlier. Just
like in K-drama I’ve learned some medical terms and some first aid procedures, legal
terms and I become familiar to Korean language though I still don’t know how to read
and write in Hangeul but I can understand some expressions and words in Korean like
Annyeonghaseyo which means hello, Saranghaeyo which means I love you, Yeppeuda
which means pretty or beautiful, Ppali ppali which means hurry up or faster, Jinja
which means really and ottoke which means what should I do? Which sometimes I
unconsciously say because some of Korean expression are really cute. The other
lesson I’ve from some pop culture is to be rational that even though we are in height of
our emotional we should stay calm and think before we speak because words are
powerful it can make or break other persons and we cannot take back the words we
say. And the last lesson I’ve learn in life we should keep fighting like like Korean
actor/actress they fight and fight to be successful in the future.

4. Why do you think we must study and learn the origins and spread of pop culture in
the Philippines?

- It’s because studying pop culture give us an accessible vehicle which will lead
us to explore philosophical and critically and moral questions such as popular
fandom, consumption, new coined word/slang so we can make larger assumptions. So
that we can think very carefully and critically about what are these things that we
were trying. So that we can wonder whether is needed useful and worthy or just trend
that is unworthy and overrated. And by studying pop culture we can see-through the
good and bad effects of these pop culture to each generations and how the pop culture
evolves from time to time.
