Dear Parents or Guardians,

My name is Brooklynne Agnew or Miss Agnew, and I will be the student teacher for your child
from the start of September until the end of December. I will be teaching alongside Ms. Elliott,
and I will be covering Science 7 as well as Computers 7. I am excited and honoured to have the
opportunity to be a student teacher and teach your child. My passion is working with children
and youth, so I look forward to getting to know your child and learning about their individual
uniqueness so that I can best help them learn and thrive.

I have a degree in General Sciences with a focus on Mathematics, Psychology, and

Neuroscience. Currently, I am working on my Education degree at the University of Lethbridge
with the aspiration of becoming a Math teacher. Last fall I completed my PSI practicum
experience in a Kindergarten classroom.

Over the past few years, I have had a variety of experiences that have helped me prepare and
gain skills in working in a classroom. For the past three summers, I have worked at a non-profit
that promotes and supports literacy development and engagement in the community. This
position fostered my enjoyment of children’s literature and I hope to bring literature to class to
share with the students. While working for the non-profit I also facilitated family programs and
STEAM based camps for children and youth. I hope to bring my knowledge of STEAM based
activities to the class to engage the students in the amazing and ever-growing realm of STEAM.
Additionally, I worked in a high school as an educational assistant in which my main role was to
support students with diverse learning abilities in a classroom setting and in a one-on-one
setting.

When I am not working or studying, I like to spend my free time outdoors. I am originally from
BC. I am passionate about the environment and enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming, and camping.
My hobbies include reading, painting, puzzles, and listening to music.

I can be reached by my email at brooklynne.agnew@lethsd.ab.ca if you have any questions or

need to communicate with me. I will be posting assignments and materials on Ms. Elliott’s
classroom website if your child misses a class.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you to help your child achieve success. I am
very excited about the learning journey your child and I are about to embark on this fall!

Sincerely,
Brooklynne Agnew.
