i. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that globalization was just a
mere interaction through the ideas of the people and then it will help in broadening the
world's culture.
ii. However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize that globalization
includes the world's culture, government and economics, therefore the economies and
societies of different countries became more integrated. This resulted to broader access to
consumers, but it also had a positive and negative impact into the people in the society, the
investors and companies of production have the greater opportunities which resulted on the
growth of their profits. However, the labourers who are the foundation of all the hard works
are paid less than what they deserve.
Through this globalization, there are cultural boundaries that are being swept away, but
the replacement for those was the proliferation of new information technologies that made the
world became easier, unrivalled changes with the communications and transportation that
made the world more interdependent.
iii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that the article was related to
the first article since, based on its title, the word integration means incorporation. The
difference was it also talks about its current state, prospects and some example cases of the
European Union, ASEAN Economic Community, and NAFTA.
iv. However, reading the article/understanding of the lesson, I now think/realize economic
integration processes is also significant in the contemporary global economy. The global
financial crisis also influences the operations of the established corporation and it affects
political and economic decisions. This the reason why the three integration groupings
undergo an examination. Even though there are positive results with this globalization, some
countries are violating some rules with regards to how globalization should function.
Examples of the violated rules are labourers has not been given importance, investors are
paying them less while investors are gaining more income, the flaws of global capital income
become worst due to world trade in goods, and the discrepancies of political will.
