Period:Single Topic: Comparative and Superlative adjectives
SLos(s): By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
• identify the degrees of comparison used in the sentences
• complete the sentences with the appropriate degrees of comparison of the adjectives
Skills focused on: Critical thinking,analyzing,applying
Resources: Board marker,Dictionaries.
Warm Up: Ask students to describe their personalities using adjectives.Write down their response on the
board. Now call any three students to keep their bags on the front desk in the class.Ask one to come and pick up
the bag which is heavy.After that,ask which bag is heavier and which one the heaviest among these bags is.

Introduction of the topic will be done by asking three of the students of different heights to stand in front
of the class.Following questions will be asked from students;
 Who is tall? Who is taller? Who is the tallest?

SLOs will be shared with students orally and by writing on board.


Explanation will be done by explaining the use of adjective and the purpose of adjectives in a sentence.
Degrees of adjectives will be explained. The difference between comparative and superlative adjectives will be
focused by giving more examples using regular and irregular adjectives. Formation of 2nd and 3rd degrees of
adjectives will be explained. Examples will be deduced by involving students.
Discussion will be done by students where they would be asked to give examples by using correct
degree of adjectives.
Board Activity will be done by students to solve the blanks by putting the correct form of adjective.
Wrap up of the lesson will be done by asking students to compare the habits and characteristics of their class
fellows or family members using degrees of adjectives.
Success Criteria will be shared orally and by writing on the board.
Written work: Students will solve exercises on notebooks independently.

 Comparative degree for comparing two things / persons and superlative for comparison among
more than two objects
Assessment Plan: On the spot assessment plan, students will be assessed through their responses during class
discussion and participation in board activity.

In week 6, all the students got to read magazines in the library period. Students of both classes
enjoyed it so much. The colourful pages, illustrations and information about animals fascinated the
students and they wanted to read magazines again for the next week. All of the students were given
different magazines so students read their own first and then swapped with the other fellows so that
they can read them as well.

In week 7, all the students got to read Urdu readers in the library. Students of both classes enjoyed
the reader with colourful illustrations. The colourful illustrations and information about Pakistan
fascinated the students. Students also got familiar with new city names and information about them.
In both classes, there are students from different cities and provinces, so they were really excited to
read about their provinces and culture.
