• Become aware of the big challenges facing human society posed by
AI, Big Data, sustainable development, and climate change, and the
role of engineering professionals in addressing these challenges
through policy, ‘solutioneering’ and personal decision making
• Be able to identify the ethical dimensions of such challenges
especially in AI and sustainable development
• Be able to identify ethical value propositions and ethical dilemmas in
the development of technical solutions

A single grand deed does not make a man virtuous. Rather, it

is the constant practice of virtuous habits that will develop
one into a virtuous person.
