Culture
Culture derived from the Sanskrit Language buddhayah, which is the plural form of
buddhi (mind or intellect) is defined as matters relating to the mind, and human reason. In
English, culture is called culture, derived from the Latin word Colere, ie process or work.
Can also be interpreted as cultivate the land or farming.

Manggarai culture is very popular in todays world. We take pride as most tourists
now come to Indonesia to enjoy the culture that is specific to Manggarai culture. We know
that culture is attached to each individual, hadi about Manggarai culture also must be attached
to every person in Manggarai. One of the popular Manggarai culture is the Caci Dance of
destruction. Manggarai culture is now more popular, so we need as people Manggarai must
still keep the popular culture.

Culture is also sometimes tranlated as “culture” in Indonesia. Elements of culture


kluckhon divides the culture system into seven elements of unuversal culture or called the
universal culture. According to Koentjaraningrat, the universal term indicates that the
elements of culture are universal and can be found in the cultures of all nations scattered
throughout the world. The sevent elements of culture are:

a .Language System

Language is a means for humans to meet their social needs to interact or connect with each
other. In anthropology, the study of language is called the term linguistic anthropology .
according to Keesing, human ability to build cultural traditions, create an understanding of
the symbolically expressed social pophenomenon, and past it on to future generations heavily
dependent on language. Thus, language occupies an important portion in the analysis of
human culture.

b . System Knowledge

The system of knowledge in the universal culture is related to the system of living equipment
and techonology because the knowledge system is abstract and tangible in human ideas. The
knowledge of the various elements used in its life. Rural comunities that live from farming
will have a traditional agricultural calendar system called a system of pranatamanggsa that
has long been used by the ancestors to run its agricultural activities.

c . Kinship system and social organization

The cultural elements of the kinship system and social organization are anthropological
attempts to understand how humans form socities through various social groups. According
to Koentjaraningrat each community of his life is governed by costums and rules concerning
various entities in the enviroment in which he lives and mingle with each other day by day.
The closest and basic social unity is its relative, the close nuclear family and other relatives.
Furthermore, humans will be classified into geographical locality levels to form a social
organization in their lives. Kinship is related to the nation of marriage in a society because
marriage is the core or foundation of the formation of a community or socuial organization.

d . System equipments life and technology

Humans always try to keep their life so they will always make the equipment or objects, the
anthropologists initial concern in understanding human culture is based on the technological
elements that a society uses in the form of objects used as living tools with simple forms and
technologies. Thus, the discussion of the elements of culture included in the equipment of life
and technology is the suject of physical culture.

e . Economic system/ livelihoods life

The livelihoods or economic activities of comunity are the focus of an important


ethnographic study. Ethnographic research on livelihoods of a community group or their
economic system to meet their living needs. The economic system in traditional socities,
among others: hunting and gathering, raising, farming in the fields, catching fish, planting
crops with irrigation systems.

f . Religious system

Koentjaraningrat states that the origin of the problem of religious function in society is the
question of why people believe in the existence of a supernatural or supernatural power
which is considered higher than humans and why man is doing various ways to communicate
an seek relationships withsupernatural powers.

g . Art
The anthropologists interest in art begins with ethnographic research on the arts activities of a
traditional society. The description collected in the study contains objects or artefact
containing elemnts of art, such as sculptures, carvings, and ornaments. The writing of early
ethnography about the elements of art in human culture is more directed to the techniques and
process of making the art objects. In addition, the early ethnographic descriptions also
examine the development of music art, dance, and drama art in a society.

Education

About in Manggarai is very low compared to other regions in Indonesia. We need to realize
that the education rangkings in Manggarai very bad. From now we need to think how we as
people Manggarai to improve the quality of education in Manggarai and must be able to
compete thruoghout Indonesia. Talk about education we must hear familiar. We as
Manggarai people also need to think why education in Manggarai is low?.

Education often takes places under the guidance of others, but also allows self-taught.
Education is generally divided into stages such as preshool, primary school, high school and
then college, university or internship.

Tips to improvemnet educations.

 Improvement of teacher quality


Teacher who have a very important position and strategy in developing the
potential of learners. To the master of the triumph and the salvation of the
future of the nation by the culvation of noble basic values as the ideals of
forming a born and spiritual personality, pursued through religius
education and general education.
 Reproduce reading
Being a provesional teacher not only master or read and only guided by
one or several books only, provesional teacher should read many books to
add material to be delivered so that as educator will not knowledge and
information that emerged and thrives in society.
 Held another school visit (comparative study)
A very important thinga teacher visits inter-school so that add knowledge
insight, exchange ideas and imformation about school progress. This will
add and complement the knowledge it hold and shortcomings that accur so
that the increase in education will be achieved quickly.
 Entered into a relationship with the students guardian
Held a meeting with the guardians of students is very important, because
with these teachers and poarents will be able to communicate, to know and
keep learners and can lead to positive actions. Because the hours of
education given in school are less when compared to hours of education in
the family.

Culture and education is very important in our life human everyday. Culture and education
must to same work to improve quality life human. We know that many culture in manggarai
such as education to we learning everyday.
