3. Apply Heading Styles for each text. Heading 1 for Computer Basics and Computer Organization
and Heading 2 for the rest of the text.
6. Click TOC and edit the page numbers. Use the corresponding page numbers for each topic and
sub-topic:
a. Computer Basics – 1-11
b. History of Computers – 1
c. Generations of Computers – 5
d. Computer Applications – 8
e. Computer Organization – 12-20
f. Number System Concepts – 12
g. Digits in a Number System – 17
A pseudocode is a version of the instructions describing each step the computer must
follow. It is written in an abbreviated form of spoken language and lies somewhere
between commands written in ordinary English and those in a computer language.
3. Place the insertion point after the word “computer”. Go to References tab and in the Footnotes
group, click Insert Footnote.

4. Then, type the following in the footnote section without the quotes:
“It is a device that accepts input, processes data, stores data and produces output according to a
series of stored instructions. It is a powerful electronic device that performs the instructions in a
program.”
5. Insert another footnote. This time place the insertion point after the second sentence.
6. Type the following in the footnote section again without the quotes:
“Parsons, J., Oja, D. (2011). New Perspective on Computer Concepts 2012: Comprehensive (14th
ed). Massachusetts, USA: Course Technology.”
The term “bit” is an abbreviation for binary digit but it can also be abbreviated as a
lowercase “b”. On the other hand, the term “byte” which is composed of eight bits is
abbreviated as an uppercase “B”.
6. Click OK.
