INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Resear

This study aims to address problems in the current manual registration of trisikad
licenses and specifically seek answers to the following questions:

1. What is the current system for trisikad registration in Barangay Tambacan?

2. What are the difficulties a barangay official and employee experience in
documenting violations of trisikad drivers and operators?
3. How does a barangay employee prepare and update reports?
4. What is the level of usability of the proposed system in terms of:
 Acceptability
 Performance

Objectives of the Study

1
General Objective of the Study

This study aims to provide a more efficient and productive way of registering and
monitoring of Trisikads in Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City.

Specific Objectives of the Study

Scope and Limitation

The proposed Trisikad Registry Information System for Barangay Tambacan

Iligan City Circa 2022 aims to help on monitoring and registering trisikad drivers and
their vehicle licenses to the Barangay. The system can generate reports of registered
trisikads in Tambacan, transaction data of payments and fees, and drivers’ violation
information. This study is focused mainly on the web-based registry information system
at Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City, as the subject of the study. This study will not cover
other problems that are not related on this study. The proposed system will provide the
Barangay Tambacan a secured and accessible database in finding records of plate
numbers associated with driver’s information. The proposed system can replace the
paper-based registration processes to a time and cost saving web-based system that
can benefit both the government and the barangay.

The proposed system cannot be deployed as it is only a prototype. It can only be

access through a local area network in the barangay. The users of this system are the
Barangay Official as admin and an office employee. The admin can update and remove
users. It can also view and update license and permit information whether it is
approved, pending, and expired. The admit can approve and decline operator and driver
application. It can view and update a ticket for violations, update transactions, and add
new trisikad associations. The office worker has limited access and can only register
new license and permit, add transactions of payments, add tickets for violation, and
view information of a trisikad drivers and operators.

2
Significance of the Study

The researchers believe that the results or findings of this study will prove to be
very beneficial to the following:

BARANGAY OFFICIAL: This system will help the barangay officials to easily access
the database securely and efficiently helping them study the condition of trisikad drivers
in Tambacan.

OFFICE WORKER: This study will benefit the barangay employee to minimize their
workload and produce accurate reports about trisikads in barangay Tambacan.

THE RESEARCHER: This study will be able to uncover things, especially in the area of
technologies that were not explored by other researchers.

FUTURE RESEARCHER: This study will guide the individuals as the basis to improve
the trisikad registry information system. This study will serve as their guide for those
who are interested to venture on the same study.

A Study on Study Habits and Academic Performance of Students

4
According to Mahwish Rabia et al. (2017), study habits contribute significantly in
the development of knowledge and perceptual capacities. Study habits tell a person that
how much he will learn and how far he wants to go, and how much he wants to earn.
These all could be decided with the help of one‟s study habits, throughout the life.
Therefore it is assumed that study habits are correlates of scholastic or academic
achievement. In this study, the association between study habits and academic
performance of students is examined. Sample of 270 students were taken from two
colleges Govt. Allama Iqbal College for Women, Sialkot and Govt. Technical College for
boys, Sialkot. The association between study habits and academic performance was
checked by using chi-square test. The results showed that there is significant
relationship between study habits and academic performance of the students.

The Influence of Study Attitudes and Study Habits on the Academic Performance
of the Students

According to Jhoselle Tus (2020), students' academic performance embodies an

essential part of the constellation of factors determinant of student success. Also, it
plays a very significant role in education, primarily as a concrete tool to assess the
student's learning process. Psychologists and researchers have attempted to
comprehend how students vary in processing, retaining, and retrieving learning
information and have used various personality, attitudinal, cognitive styles, and ability
measures. Thus, this study's primary purpose was to determine the students' study
attitudes, study habits, and academic performance. Further, this examined the influence
of study attitudes and study habits on their academic performance. The study
respondents were the senior high school students in a Catholic School in Bulacan,
5
Philippines. The Descriptive-correlation research method was utilized to describe the
respondents' profile in terms of their study attitudes, study habits, and academic
performance. A total of one hundred thirty (130) senior high school students participated
in this study. The null hypothesis at .05 alpha level of significance was tested to
determine the influence of study attitudes and study habits on the students' academic
performance. The computed multiple regression analysis results revealed that study
attitudes and study habits do not significantly affect senior high school students'
academic performance.

The Study of Learning Computer Programming for Students with Medical Fields
of Specification—An Analysis via Structural Equation Modeling

According to Ching-Hsiang Lai, Yan-Kwang Chen, Ya-huei Wang, and Hung-

Chang Liao (2022 May, 19), this study investigated medical school students’ CPLA, CT
perspectives, and PE in learning the computer programming of C++ language. A total of
495 samples were obtained. The students participating in the study were derived from
random sampling. Furthermore, this study was approved by the guidelines of the
Institutional Review Board of Chung Shang Medical University Hospital (No. CS1-
20034); moreover, before they filled in the scales, they had been informed of the
research purposes. Each student completed three scales: the Computer Programming
Learning Attitude scale (CPLAS), the CT Perspectives scale (CTPS), and the
Programming Empowerment scale (PES). The statistical software, Amos 24 [61], was
used for the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and Structural equation modeling
(SEM).

Study Behavior in Computing Education—A Systematic Literature Review

https://dl.acm.org/doi/fullHtml/10.1145/3469129

According to Madeleine Lorås, Guttorm Sindre, Hallvard Trætteberg, And Trond

Aalberg (2021), as the field of computing education grows and matures, it has become
essential to unite computing education and higher education research. Educational
research has highlighted that how students study is crucial to their learning progress,
and study behaviors have been found to play an important role in students’ academic
success. This article presents the main results of a systematic literature review intended
to determine what we know about the study behaviors of computing students and the
role of educational design in shaping them. A taxonomy of study behaviors was
developed and used to clarify and classify the definitions of study behavior, process,
strategies, habits, and tactics as well as to identify their relationship to the educational
context. The literature search resulted in 107 included papers, which were analyzed
according to defined criteria and variables. The review of study behavior terminology
found that the same terms are used to describe substantially different study behaviors,
and the lack of standard terminology makes it difficult to compare findings from different
papers. Furthermore, it was more common for papers to use study behaviors to explain
other aspects of students rather than exploring and understanding them. Additionally,
the results revealed a tendency to focus on specific educational contexts, predominantly
introductory programming courses. Although computing education as a field is well
equipped to expand the knowledge about both study behaviors and their connection to
the educational context, the lack of common terminology and theories limits the impact.
The taxonomy of study behaviors in computing education proposed in this article can
contribute to contextualizing the research in such a way that researchers and educators
across institutional borders can compare and utilize results. Last, the article outlines
some areas for future research and recommendations for practice.

8
According to Gilbert C. Magulod Jr. (2018), in order to better prepare university
students as proficient, versatile and productive information and industrial technologists
in the 21st century, the need to implement instructional strategies and activities naturally
align with their predispositions will make them better learners. This study examined the
learning style preferences, study habits and level of academic achievement of students
enrolled in applied science courses of one campus of a public higher education
institution in the Philippines. The study employed descriptive correlational research
design to a total of seventy-five respondents who were purposively sampled. Two sets
of standardized instruments were utilized by the researcher. Results of the study
revealed that the students of applied sciences courses preferred visual, group and
kinesthetic as major learning styles while they manifest a moderate level of study habits.
They also have a good level of academic achievement. Test of difference revealed that
academic performance, father's occupation and type of high school graduated from
spelled significant differences in their perceptual learning styles. They also spelled
differences in their study habits when grouped according to academic standing in high
school, writing skills, mothers’ education, and test anxiety. Finally, there were significant
relationships between learning styles, study habits and academic performance of
students in applied science courses. The implications of the study can guide instructors
to plan and deliver suitable instructional interventions.

Summary

With the advent of information technology, the major focus has shifted from
manual systems to computerized systems. The systems that were presented were
obtained from both foreign and local studies that were then made as the basis for the
development of the proposed system. It describes the different features of the system
that are available.

This was a result of the realization for the need of an efficient and effective
automated system given the incompetent nature of the manual systems in place in the

9
managing of trisikad registry information. The dynamic nature of information technology
and wide array of information need to be implemented.

The study identified the major problems faced by the use of manual filing
systems to manage trisikad and operator registry records and solve them by developing
an automated trisikad registry information system. To identify system requirements, the
researchers materialized a questionnaire, observation, evaluation and interview to
collect data for the development of system.

The connection of the related systems that made realize some functions and
factors that would help the proposed system to be more advanced, adaptable, accurate
and effective for the users. It acquired some in related studies and merged it to the
system to be more beneficial to the barangay. Furthermore, the system is more
secured, user-friendly and less time-consuming.
