She is my English teacher in high school. Everyone always call her Ma’am Jose.

 She is
only an ordinary teacher but for me she is a hero. Actually I don’t really close with her
because I’m not type of student who can get closer with their teacher. I am very shy
person at that time. I also very quiet student in the class, that’s why though I have more
knowledge than another students but there is no teacher could see my ability. But she is
different, she could see my potency. She said that, “Lilian, you are smart but you are
very silent, come on speak up, I know you have more abilities than other, show them!”
She always asks me to join any competition though I am not really interested on it. She
is never giving up making me to be a confident student. Therefore, gradually I begin to
be an active student in her class. I like her smile when I shared my opinion with others
and it is very precious for me. She is the first teacher who ever explain about multiple
intelligences in the class. She never judges a student stupid because they got a bad
mark in English lesson.  She knows that those students have ability in another lesson.
She also applied active learning method in our class. She always focus on students who
not really good at English and she always give more time in English lesson to teach her
students. Her lesson always leaves meaningful experience for us.

For me, my reason is that this teacher has been a great help in my studies; she is the one who
gave me hope to continue studying by being a working student at our school, and because of
her, I was given a chance to graduate from high school.

She is the English instructor I had in high school. She is always referred to as Ma'am Jose. She is
just a regular teacher, yet to me, she is a hero. Since I'm not the kind of student who can
develop a deep relationship with their instructor, I actually don't feel particularly close to her.
At the time, I was a really shy person. Although I know more than the other students in the
class, the teacher cannot see my talent because I am a very quiet student. She is unique though
because she recognized my strength. "Lilian, you are smart but you are very shy. Come on,
speak out; I know you have more abilities than others. Show them!" she said.

Yes, we will study more diligently so that we don't fall behind in our classes because it's
enjoyable to have a good grade and it's the same for receiving a reward. It is also possible to
discipline us as students by having a punishment, which encourages us to be more diligent in
our studies.
