In this School Learning Action Cell / SLAC the process of planning and creating effective
assessments for students who need remediation will be shared to the participants by the
speaker.

V. PROJECT/ TRAINING DESCRIPTION
A. RATIONALE: In line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, or

the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, the Department
of Education issues the enclosed policy on the Training Action
Cell (LAC) as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School-
Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the
improvement of teaching and learning. English Department
will conduct a training on Effective Remediation Assessment
that can be used to support the management and delivery of
assessment.
According to Aubrey S. Abante et al (2021), teachers are

introduced to different classroom configurations. With
teachers and students having a hard time coping up with
different modality of instruction, learning gaps are formed.
Students’ independent learning and parents’ cooperation as
learning facilitators at home are needed and so failure on
these results to either unanswered activities or insufficient
passing scores. This calls for immediate need of remediation
which requires appropriate discussion and effective
assessment matching the needs of students at-risk of failure.

teachers in utilizing effective assessment for remediation.
