Descriptive

 Descriptive statistics summarizes or describes the characteristics of a data set.


1. Descriptive statistics consists of three basic categories of measures: measures of central
tendency, measures of variability (or spread), and frequency distribution.
2. Measures of central tendency describe the center of the data set (mean, median,
mode).
3. Measures of variability describe the dispersion of the data set (variance, standard
deviation).
4. Measures of frequency distribution describe the occurrence of data within the data set
(count).

As we see above frequency table the question was age of respondent and there were options
less than 18, 18-20, 20-22, above 22. In which one student answer was that he is less than 18,
ten students selected that they are 12-20, and twenty-five students selected that they are 20-
22, four students answered that they are above 22.

Next question was household income of respondents. There were some options like 3-5lac, 6-
8lac, 9-11lacs, more the 11 lacs. Out of 40 students nineteen students said their family income
is 3-5lac, three students said their family income is 6-8, and eight students answered their
family income is 9-11lacs and other remaining ten respondents answered that their family
income is more than 11lacs

Main question was average studying hours of students. Twenty-two students said that they
study 3 hours, and seven said they study 5 hours in a day, five said they study 7 hours in a day,
and six students selected other option

One of important questions was what kind of courses shall be offered in summer. Majority of
students 97% of sample population said major subjects must be offered in summer and only 3
students selected minor subject
