E-waste
E-waste refers to any item with a plug, battery or cords that are no
longer working or wanted. It cannot be placed in your kerbside bins
and must be disposed of separately.
There’s a better place for e-waste than your rubbish bin. Precious metals can be recovered
and reused, and dangerous chemicals can be captured to avoid harm to our environment
The way e-waste is recycled
can vary between recyclers, but
generally it follows this pattern:
Disassembly Shredding Sorting Repurposed

E-waste will be collected via hard waste collections, of which each resident has two
of every year. Otherwise you can drop your items off at the transfer stations listed on
the back of this page. Please remove all batteries and dispose of them at either the listed
transfer stations, either of Council’s Customer Service Centres or Aldi.
Items include:

TV’s and DVD Cameras Alarm clocks Fax machines White goods such as fridges,
players and radios and phones freezers and washing
machines and dryers
