“DEPRESSION AS A SILENT KILLER”

Depression is sometimes known as ‘the silent killer,’ which I now understand.

This is because of its longevity without notice. It appears in different forms and
can strip away everything you own, love, and care about, Abisola

All depression is not the same. There are times when you may feel sad,
lonely or hopeless for a few days or feel depressed. It 's often said that we are
shaped by the experiences that come our way throughout life. Furthermore,
not just those experiences but our response to each of them.
This rings true in my own life and I can think of a certain struggle in particular
that has really shaped who I have become. It really comes down to one word
with a whole lot more connected to it. Depression. My own personal case was
major, which is called clinical depression. This four years struggle almost
ended my life. My go-to is a place of acceptance, non-judgemental, and
curiosity which always rests and re-energizes me in finding the energy to enjoy
and continue with my day, I escape to my comfort zone to see what is the
purpose of life. I further trained to be a mental health first aider in looking out
for early signs of mental health issues or crisis for myself, family, and others
around me. It is not easy to live a life with depression, that kind of feeling that
you could only see darkness when there was light.
When we talk depression a lot of us experience this, it is between life and
death I can barely say this word because I’ve been there but I am proud to say
that I am a survival instead of killing myself I pray and choose to live the life I
have. Sometimes in our life we can say that there is no hope out there and the
only solution we have is killing ourself to stop the pain and end the problem.
But if we are going to pray during this darkness times, as what the bible
says“For nothing will be impossible with God.” Luke 1:37
