Reflection On Giving Voice to Values

Over the course of the previous 10 weeks, I have been influenced by giving voice to
values in various ways. For one, I now have a much better grasp on what values are and why
they are so important to a business that wants to uphold its status in the industry and retain
excellent customer relations (Arce and Gentile, 2018 pp542). If a company can get all of its
workers to buy into and act in accordance with its core principles, it has a better chance of
succeeding as a whole. In light of what I've learned in this course on giving values a voice, I've
altered my perspective on values and am now able to persuade others to put them first and do
their work in accordance with the organization's stated principles (Gentile, 2019 pp479). As
a future leader, I will be able to encourage my subordinates to speak out for the company's
ideals, helping them to contribute to the organization's overall success while also protecting the
company's standing in the market.
