Well said. For today’s lesson, we will


talk about the story of Alfredo
Salazar’s. “A story of a man who called Alfredo

Esperanza and Alfredo have their
engagement after three years of
romance. Alfredo, a lawyer is a man
who wants warmth and compassion
but Esperanza is a strong-willed,
impassioned and woman of principles.

Setting:
The story is set in Don Julian's and
Judge Del Valle's houses located in
the Philippines. It foreshadows the
social make-up and dominant views of
the place at that time. The society is
male-dominated and represent the
features of such a social setup.

The story is unfolds following the


order:
1.Introduction:Alfredo reminiscence how
he met Julia Salas
2.Rising Action: He went neighboring with
his father to judge Del Valle and met Julia
Salas,Julia become embarrassed when
Alfredo keeps on calling her Mrs.Del Valle.
Alfredo went to the judge’s house often since
then.
3.Complication: He realized he was in love
with Julia Salas in spite of having an
engagement with Esperanza.
4.Climax: Alfredo caught up with Julia after
the procession of The Lady of Sorrows. Julia
found out about Alfredo’s engagement with
Esperanza and congratulated him. This
pushed him to think whether to choose
Esperanza or Julia Salas.
5. Falling Action: Julia wanted Alfredo to
honor his understanding with Esperanza and
so she bids farewell. Alfredo went home to
Esperanza.
6. Conclusion: A;fredo and Esperanza got
married and had a family. Eight years later,
he went to a business trip to a town where
Julia still unmarried, lives. He visited Julia
whom he has never forgotten but realized
that he doesn’t have the same feelings for
her like before.

her faults. But the truth is that things
have happened.
