Considerations

1. The wall thickness of water piping components shall be determined considering the
applicable design conditions, in accordance with ASME B31.4 code,
2. The pipe wall thickness design shall consider the empty pipes stability (buckling) and the
deformations of the pipes as per AWWA M11
3. No corrosion allowance shall be considered
4. For all pipes this deformation shall be limited to 3% of pipe diameter
5. Stresses in the pipe work shall not exceed the allowable limits as specified in ASME B31.4
6. The selected nominal thickness is based on API 5L/ASME B36.10M

4. DESIGN CONSIDERATION
7. No forces developed within pipework system shall be transferred to the civil structure without
the approval of OWNER/ENGINEER.
