Project Details
Goal:
To study the supply chain aspects of Midas Safety including management, transportation, distribution
and supplier management, production, warehouse management, procurement and contract
management. To find out the KPI’s followed by the organization in order to evaluate their success and to
know how operations are performed.

Scope:
This study will carry out a detailed supply chain analysis of Midas Safety including a range of topics. This
study will figure out the current ISO standards being followed by Midas Safety, other stakeholders that
are involved in the supply chain process and how logistics is managed to complete the production.
Logistics department will help to evaluate the delivery of goods.

Moreover, this study will figure out how procurement is done at Midas Safety and on what basis
suppliers are selected. There will be a detailed study on the inventory management of Midas Safety to
find out the whole process of delivering the goods to the customer. The supply chain structure of Midas
Safety will be studied along with the role of each member.

This project further aims to study the current IT system being used in Midas Safety and how IT system
are managing the overall supply chain of the organization. It will study how contract management is
done at Midas Safety including, how contracts are made with the vendors, partners and employees and
what KPIs are set for them. It will also study the modes of transportation that is being used and how the
supply chain network is being managed through it and ways in which Midas Safety is maintaining the
quality of its products by studying the quality management system.

Value Chain of Midas Safety will be studied in detail by doing a Value Chain Analysis. Warehouses of
Midas Safety and its facilities will be studied. Study of the whole production process right from the
beginning when raw materials are procured until finished goods are made and the productivity of
workers in the supply chain department to know how efficiently and effectively goods are made will be
carried out. Further details regarding the scope of this project can be found in Appendix 1.

Benefits:
Supply chain report can be used for training new employees on how the current supply chain functions.
This report will study the current supply chain model of Midas Safety and how it can be improved in the
future. An agile supply chain model will be developed in order to respond to changes in consumer
demand and meet unexpected changes. This project will determine and document ways in which Midas
Safety can reduce costs by making changes in the supply chain process, achieve a sustainable supply
chain, improve customer service to satisfy customers and achieve efficiency in the transportation of
goods.

We will be making suggestions for improvements in the following areas:

1. Supply Chain Strategy

2. Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

3. Supply Chain Structure

4. Supplier Selection Process (KPIs for vendors, workers and partners)

Further changes that can be made in the warehouses in order to increase the storage capacity. Changes
in the current IT system to achieve efficiency and lower costs for the firm. Minimize wastages by
managing stock efficiently and manage buffer stocks to avoid stock holding cost.
