Oral Communication: “Reinforcement Activity’’

Students of language have in general placed primary emphasis upon the generating
and mechanisms of speech. For example, it is common to classify the sounds of speech in physiological
terms; phonetic tables and charts usually show organic position or mechanism in one dimension and
method production in the other. There has also been considerable interest in the acoustical effects or res-
ults of speech production. Human communication is grounded in fundamentally cooperative, even shared,
and intentions. The current state of my research about of my observations on emotion effects on voice and
speech for human communication is reviewed and issues for future research efforts are discussed. In par-
ticular, it is suggested to be used this approach allows one to model the complete process, including both
encoding (expression), transmission, and decoding (impression) of vocal emotion communication. Special
emphasis is placed on the conceptualization and operationalization of the major natures, elements, process,
functions and natures of effective communication. There are instances when miscommunication and mis-
understanding occur because of certain barriers. To become an effective communicator, you should recog-
nize all barriers that hinder a process. The communication brings people together, closely associated with
all other managerial functions. It bridges the gap between individuals and groups through flow of informa-
tion and understanding between them.
Communications plays a vital role in human life. It helps facilitate the exchange of information and know-
ledge, and develop relationships with others. Therefore, the importance of communication skills in our
day-to-day life cannot be underestimated. The communication process is a dynamic framework that de-
scribes how a message travels between a sender and receiver using a various channels. Its goal is to ensure
the receiver decodes the message correctly and can provide feedback with ease and speed. Human beings
are poor communicators but our communicative competence can be improved by learning and practising
effective communication skills.
Communication has a symbolic nature and is an act of sharing one’s ideas, emotions, attitudes, or percep-
tions with another person or group of persons through words (written or spoken), gestures, signals, signs,
or other modes of transmitting images. The transmission of ideas always encounters barriers that reduce its
effectiveness. The essential elements of the process of communication are the message, the sender, encod-
ing, the channel, the receiver, decoding, acting on the message, the feedback, and the communication en-
vironment.
Both the sender and the receiver play a role in making communication effective. The sender should encode
the message accurately after considering the level, expectations, and needs of the target audience (re-
ceiver); the receiver should listen or read carefully to try to understand the intended meaning of the sender.
The universal, common elements of communication are the communication environment, the use of sym-
bols, and the presence of mental filters.
Some basic facts about communication are that perfect communication is impossible; the meaning of a
message is in the mind perception of the receiver; and personality affects the effectiveness of communica-
tion.
To communicate effectively, one should develop not only skills, but also a sense of empathy with others.
