Boiling point of water

The boiling point is the temperature (temperature) at which the vapor pressure of a
liquid is equal to the external pressure experienced by the liquid.

Principle of boiling water

The principle underlying boiling water is the principle of heat transfer by
convection, namely heat transfer through an intermediary substance, when we cook
water, what gets hot first is the bottom of the water then slowly the water at the
bottom starts to heat up because of the density of the water. it changes, then the water
that is at the top goes down because of the pressure from the bottom water that moves
up, so the process continues continuously until the water that was cooked earlier has
the same temperature. The boiling point of water itself if it is in our daily lives,
namely at the earth which is at an air pressure of 1 atm is 1000 C. Of course, if no
other substances are added. Because if you add other substances, the boiling point will
change, for example, if you add salt, the boiling point of water will exceed 1000 C.

Boiling Water Process

The process of boiling water begins when we heat water, the water will take heat
energy from the heater, its characteristic is the movement of water molecules. The
hotter the water, the movements of the molecules will be faster and cause the
molecular bonds of free water. These free molecules become vapor. And when the
water reaches its boiling point, bubbles will form.

The bubbles are water vapor rising to the surface of the water. The bubbles have
pressure in the water. The amount of this pressure is directly proportional to the
temperature of the water. At the same time, all of the water is pressurized by the
outside air at a certain pressure. If the pressure from the water vapor bubble is less
than the outside air pressure, the bubble will deflate again. Conversely, if the bubble
pressure is stronger than the outside air pressure, bubbles will form.
