Speaking test

Good afternoon, we are students of the ITSOEH of the industrial engineering career of the
third group b. My team is:
Ordoz Garcia Zaid Emanuel 20011912
Jair Saúl Luna Aldana - 20011556
Martinez Harris Angel de Jesus - 20011614

My topic is: Sustainable development.

What is Sustainable development?
This concept refers to the evolution that industries seek to develop in a way that is
sustainable for the environment. Talking about caring for the environment not only refers to
natural ecosystems but to all those that are needed to survive. In this case we can consider
the same cities as ecosystems. Ecosystems that due to industrial growth in them face
problems of water and energy supply.

It is divided into three sustainable factors:

SUSTAINABILITY ENVIRONMENT
In its aspect it sets the sustainability defends that nature is not an inexhaustible source of
resources and ensures its protection and rational use. Aspects such as caring for the
environment. investment in renewable energy saving water, commitment to sustainable
mobility or innovation in construction and sustainable architecture contribute to achieve a
change.
SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY
Social sustainability is also related to expanding opportunities for all, now and in the future.
Along with economic and environmental sustainability, it is key to reducing poverty and
promoting shared prosperity.
ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY
Economic sustainability is the ability of an organization to manage its resources and
generate profitability responsibly and in the long term.
COMPETEMCIAS OF THE “Sustainable development”.

Objectives of sustainable development in the industry:

A safe, healthy and quality life for our employees
Any asset in a company can be imitated, except people. Sustainability leads us to create
safe work spaces, but also to provide workers with continuous training, generate a good
working and relational climate with union representatives and keep communication channels
accessible for the exchange of opinions.
Products for more sustainable lifestyles
We all want to live in a more sustainable society but without sacrificing the current level of
quality of life. Steel is a ubiquitous material in our environment and plays an important role
in achieving this sustainability goal.
Responsible use of water, air and soil
The growth of the world population is exerting a strong pressure on the scarce natural
resources of the planet. Without air, land, and water, there is no economy, no society, and
no ecosystems. These resources are essential to our business, but we must commit to using
them sustainably.

Topics to be exposed on sustainability

1.1 Concept of sustainability.
Sustainability means meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the
ability of future generations to meet their own needs. To achieve it, the implicit factors in this
definition must be taken into account, which are: well-being, development, environment and
future.

1.2 Principles of sustainability.

1. Precautionary principle
If we recognize that nature is wiser than human beings, we should act with caution and
caution when we do not have sufficient knowledge about the effects that certain technologies
and chemical compounds can cause in the environment that could put humans or
communities at risk. other species.
2. Principle of interdependence and interconnection
It derives from the premise that everything is connected to everything, that is to say that
neither in nature nor in society are there phenomena that operate in isolation or
independently.
3. Principle of efficiency and moderation.
It derives from the premise that in nature there is nothing free. Everything that nature
apparently provides us for free, such as oxygen, means millions of years of evolution, its
destruction implies great losses, sometimes irreversible. If we cut down the forests at a rate
faster than their natural regeneration capacity, we will lose the resource.
4. The principle of balance.
Nature is constantly changing and rebuilding dynamic balances, but when an element is lost
or greatly diminished, a rupture can occur that prevents rebuilding the balance of the
ecosystem and, consequently, causes its collapse.

1.3 Dimensions of sustainability

It requires that development be compatible with the maintenance of ecological processes,
biological diversity and the natural resource base. It promotes the protection of the natural
resources necessary for food and energy security and, at the same time, understands the
requirement for the expansion of production to satisfy populations in demographic growth.
