Proposal

Title- Constricted

The concept of my production will be a narrative music video aimed

towards an 18+ niche audience. It will be based around a teenager boy
with an unstable mental health that is having family issues at home and
struggles at school as well as he is not that academic. His one option to
"escape" from his problems is skating and the relationship between his
friends.
He's having a dreadful day and his parents are arguing with him, he has
just got back from school and has had enough. Max goes downstairs
and grabs his skateboard and goes for a skate, this will be cinematic b-
roll of him skating going with the beat. He calls up his friend's and meets
them at a spot where the song concludes and becomes more mellow, he
is now at peace and has "unplugged" from his dilemmas and worries.
Giving that my audience will be 18+ and niche the aims of the production
is to help the viewers understand the importance of freedom through
sport and the importance of the relationship this builds between the
activity and how it is "good for the soul".
This idea will be developed over the course of the next weeks, but this is
the general concept of my production. I am anticipating a powerful
production where the visuals interlink with the tempo of the visuals, to
do so I will also have to improve on my editing skills as I will have to edit
to the beat.

I am producing this music video to create an emotional response within

my target audience and present the importance of stress and tranquillity
based around a passion in skateboarding. By doing this I will connect
with my target audience and the jazz/hip-hop skate culture.

My Target Audience is 18+ Niche so I have decided to target the culture

surrounding skateboarding using hip-hop and jazz music.

My viewers would want to see the importance of the passion surrounding

skateboarding and how it solves a lot of problems for a lot of individuals.
Production wise they will want to see a cinematic piece involving all the
basic film form elements.

I will be creating a production around a character that is having

household issues and stress from college. Through my research the
production idea has developed within the film forms. What I mean by this
is the change of the narrative when researching into my target audience
and what they want to see. I also looked further into the culture and
locations I will be using in the music video.

My production will be aired on YouTube as it is the most used streaming

platform within my target audience. YouTube also works perfectly with
the classification process that we previously researched.

Over time i will be developing my course work starting with my idea but
this will change and develop when i start the research for my production.
I will be able to reflect on my work through my weekly blogs and this will
be included in my research in my target audience, codes, and
conventions. The decisions i make throughout this project will be
structured and written down each day as i progress, the aim of my
production is to show the importance of the connection that one has
with a sport (In my case skateboarding). I will be stating the positives
and negatives of my work and how this can be improved later, this
project is a solo project so there will be minimal distractions as I will not
be working with my peers giving me a chance to focus more. This can be
minimised by completing course work at home as-well as in college.
