Problems Faced- Editing, Refining, Feedback & Production

- I should have given myself more time on the planning section as I started
with the quick and easy sheets such as the crews list etc. This would have
saved me more time by attacking the more in-depth planning tasks
creating less stress for when it comes up to the editing sector.
- I came across a similar problem with my editing and leaving myself a short
amount of time to get the production up to the correct standards.
- My main problem in my editing process was the amount of footage I had
open in the “Media Browser” (over 10 hours of footage). This meant that
premier pro couldn’t render in the edit up to speed, making the editing
process 2X slower than it had to be. This made the deadline very tight, but I
manged to export the production just in time.
- When filming in hackney I was very lucky I didn’t encounter any simple
problems as I forgot to bring extra battery packs. Luckily, I had 40 mins in
the green room to charge up my camera battery before the gig started.
- My main lens didn’t work well in low light, but I manged to talk to one of the
gig photographers and he kindly gave me an additional lens to use that
worked with the setting I filmed in.
- In the result Alexi wanted me to refine it for them to put it up on their
website. My client is a perfectionist and would want the production at its
best quality for the band to put it on their social medias.

Additional information:
Problems faced during Alexi Interview:
• Camera Battery died mid recording.
• SD Card Full mid recording.
• Wrong Interview questions asked in the 3rd shoot- this was resolved
after refining the edit and making changes to the volume.
• Microphone Interference, (this was due to the placement of the
microphone as I decided to place it on Alexi’s leg). This is so no
drafts in the room would catch the microphone and it was close
enough to capture crisp audio. This was resolved through telling
Alexi to be conscious of his hand movements as it captured the
audio of him moving his feet etc.
• Additional Microphone- I decided to use two different
microphones in case of any dilemmas with one of them. When it
came to setting up the equipment the rode microphone didn’t
fit, this is because I forgot to check and needed an extension
cord. This was resolved by using my voice memo’s app on my
phone. The outcome was as good as the rode microphone and
wasn’t noticeable in the edit after the volume edits.
• Overall, the main problems was my time management with most
of the tasks, this should have been resolved through thinking
ahead of time and using my weekly planning sheets (production
schedule etc to my advantage)
