INQUIRY VS. RESEARCH OVERVIEW

INSTRUCTION: Determine whether Inquiry or Research is applicable to the given situations. Check
the corresponding column of your answer.

People tends to seek knowledge not just to store in the brain but to acquire
knowledge for deeper understanding of the world – an understanding that
inspires you to create, construct, or produce things for the betterment of all
kinds of life.
Inquiry is a term which is synonymous to investigation. When people inquire or
investigate, people tends to ask question to probe or examine something.

All data in a research does not come from the researcher itself but also from
other sources such as books, people, artworks and many more. Hence, one
cardinal rule in research is to give credit to these people whom you derive your
data. It is not only thanking the authors of their contribution but also
establishing the validity and reliability of the finding of your research will be
serve as an instrument to world progress. (Mujis 2011; Ransme 2012)
METHODS OF RESEARCH
Both Inquiry and Research makes you learn something by encouraging you to
formulate questions to exact information that you want to discover about the
object of your curiosity.
Inquiry follows a scientific procedure of discovering the truth. (Goodwin 2014;
Lapan 2012)
Research includes complex act of investigation. (Goodwin 2014; Lapan 2012)
