Task 1
Directions: List down five (5) ideas/practices that you didn’t do or think of before but
which you now do or think of, possibly because of cultural adaptation. Explain how you
were able to adapt to each.

1. One of the things I didn't do before was having dress codes, but when I went to the
orphanage there, I got used to always having a dress code because when there is a mass, it
should be white and skirt and we should all be wearing the same clothes.
➔ for a long time I got used to it because that's what we always do.

2. When I went to the orphanage, there was a schedule for praying which was morning and
afternoon and I was a bit unaccustomed to it because before when I prayed I only did the sign of
the cross and it was short but their prayer is long, there is a prayer book after this is the rosary
that will be prayed, so I often fall asleep because I'm tired.
➔ For a long time, I also got used to it so every time I pray I feel the solemnity of my world,
that's the only place I find true rest.

3. What I used to not do was having schedules for the day immediately, because when I was
out there it wasn't dictated what I should do for our time, but when I went to the orphanage, all
of our time had a schedule as if it's like in school with a schedule too.
➔ Because that became a routine in my life, I also got used to it and became more
responsible at the right time and learned to budget my time more.

4. When I wasn't at the orphanage I was used to being responsible for myself but when I went to
the orphanage they trained me to be a coordinator where all the children under your jurisdiction
are your responsibility.
➔ Because of this I learned to be more responsible and be a good example because I am
a coordinator so they should see me with good behavior and good personality.

5. And the last thing is to live in the orphanage, because I am the type of person who is
introverted and can't easily adjust to a new environment, so I had a bit of a hard time with the
way of life in the orphanage.
➔ Eventually I got used to the way of life of the orphanage and I felt like having a real
family that even if you are not related by blood you will feel their love for you and friends
that will support you and more siblings that will sympathize with you when you need it to
lean on.
Task 2
Directions: Access “Work Habits in several Countries” on
https://youtube.com/sLl3qa227oL4 and analyze the video. Identify any
behaviors that you are aware of. For those actions that were cited in the video,
suggest ways to improve communication and work habits in a four-paragraph
essay. Your essay should have an introduction (paragraph 1), body (paragraphs
2 and 3), and conclusion (paragraph 4).

Task 3
Directions: Browse your FB news feed and screenshot a post which you
think shows the negative impact of technology to the way people
communicate. Extra points will be given to a negative impact not included
in the discussion above but can still be considered a negative impact

mitigating the negative impact of these technological advancements to
communication?
➔ The only thing I can do is try not to misuse technology; I won't post crude comments that
I know will interfere with my ability to communicate with others, and most importantly, I
won't ever spread misinformation that could lead to misunderstandings. Whenever
possible, I won't copy content I find online so that the creator won't feel like I'm stealing
his creation, and I won't post it either.
