MODULE DESCRIPTION :
This module aimsto provide the trainees with the Knowledge, skills, and attitudes
required in the management of subordinates and equipment.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

At the end of the module the trainee will be able to:


LO1: Manage subordinates effectively
LO2: Train subordinates
LO3: Manage subordinate’s performance
LO4: Maintain equipment in recycle system
LO5: Maintain proper communication

MODULE CONTENTS:
LO1: Manage subordinates effectively
1.1 Pre-job meeting and conferences
1.2 Roles and responsibilities of team members
1.3 Supervise teams
1.4 Training team member
1.5 Follow and practice proper safety procedures and policies.

LO2: Train subordinates

2.1 Implement company policy, procedure and practices.

2.2 Induct new hands in accordance with company and statutory


requirements.
2.3 Upgrade subordinates in their positions.

2.4 Assist subordinates in meeting their on-the-job training program


requirements.

2.5 Train teams in the caring and handling of equipment and machines
LO3: Manage subordinate’s performance
3.1 Skills of team members and opportunities for individual development.
3.2 Team performance towards achievement of goals.
3.3 Delegate and monitor tasks and responsibilities
3.4 Mentoring and coaching team members.
3.5 Recognize and reward team achievements.
LO4: Maintain equipment in circulation system
4.1 Perform and record daily maintenance checks.
4.2 Follow manufacturer's recommendations in care of equipment.
4.3 Examine tools and equipment for wear or damage.
LO5: Maintain proper communication
5.1 Advise teams of all current conditions and any changes.
5.2 Use correct handover procedures with relief.
5.3 Place orders for stock or equipment maintenance in advance of need, to
ensure continuous availability.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
LO1: Managing subordinates effectively

 Conduct pre-job meeting and briefings.


 Make all members of the team aware of their roles and responsibilities.
 Supervise team as directed by the project manager
 Assist team members with training.
 Follow and practice Ensure proper safety procedures and policies.

LO2: Training subordinates

 Implement company policy, procedure and practices.


 Induct new hands in accordance with company and statutory requirements.
 Assist subordinates in upgrading their positions.
 Assist subordinates in meeting their on-the-job training program
requirements.
 Instruct teams in the care and handling of equipment and machines

LO3: Managing subordinate’s performance

 Assesse Skills of team members and provide opportunities for individual


development.
 Monitor Team performance to ensure progress towards achievement of
goals.
 Delegate and monitor Tasks and responsibilities appropriately.
 Provide Mentoring and coaching support to team members
 Recognize and reward Team achievements.

LO4: Maintaining all equipment in circulation system
