Introduction
The Students’ Gymkhana organizes General Championship to promote holistic development
of the students. The events in the general championship deal with all fields of importance
for the development of students and in turn all the councils of the Students’ Gymkhana. The
events in General Championship ’18-’19 are:
Takneek would be conducted as per last year (2017-18). Galaxy and Inferno would be
distributed over number of weekends throughout the year. The exact distribution shall be
presented by General Secretary, Media and Cultural Affairs and General Secretary, Games
and Sports Council later. Exact logistics of Green Opus would be decided in the CoSHA
meeting.
The entire General Championship would be carried out over a period of 11 weekends.
Pool Structure
All the students are distributed into five pools based on their Halls, Batches, and Previous
Halls. The five pools are:
1) Lottery would be conducted to decide the PG hostel (amongst hall 4,7,8,10 and11) for
pool allocation.
2) All the UG students of Y15 and earlier batches can participate either from their parent
pool or the pool Veeras. However, a minimum of 50% of students from the pool would be

required in a team in any group event. For individual events, the contestant needs to be from
the parent pool.
Point Distribution
The distribution of over-all General Championship Points for the five pools is:
Mauryans 25 25 35 10 5 100
Mughals 25 25 35 10 5 100
Marathas 25 25 35 10 5 100
Veeras 13 30 42 10 5 100
For all events, the First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth positions shall attract points in the
ratio of 1.0, 0.60, 0.35, 0.20 and 0.10 respectively.
For events with only 4 pools participating, the First, Second, Third and Fourth positions
shall attract points in the ratio of 1.0, 0.55, 0.30, 0.10 respectively.
Event Participation
All pools shall participate in events worth points 60% to 100% of the total points in every
competition. The pre-conduction report of every event shall highlight the events in which a
pool is participating.
