Students’ Opinion Society

Students’ Opinion Society is a non-political club based in IIT Kanpur that brings global events into
valuable perspective. We explore current stories in international news, economics, finance and
geopolitics by examining the facts and providing historical context. We cover a range of political,
philosophical, economic and historical topics. "This is a new hobby group, so what I believe is that the
structure is not very properly defined yet. It's like a clay-mound that's not set yet, but can be carved into
something extraordinarily beautiful. I want to contribute to the overall development, publicity and
expansion of the group. I've my own few suggestions:

- Organizing frequent bulla sessions on topics that are decided by polls

- Making a website for the hobby group which may include: -A List of various trending topics and a
discussion forum for each

-A Student Blog which can be accessed by all(both inside and outside the campus)

. -On the same we can also organize blog writing competitions on various topics going around.

- A ""SOS Digest"" which 'll include a roundup of group discussions on various topics with a generalized
common view on different topics, showing different aspects of the situation contributed by the opinion
of our various members and observers.

- Extending the group to PG and PhD students (not very sure if this has been already done, Nice if so)"

- Video presentation on current topics.
