PURPOSIVE COMMUNICATION

Compose an essay consisting of 400-500 words discussing your expectations about

Purposive Communication course. Please be guided by the rubric.

On this subject, Purposive Communication, I am expecting to develop my

communicative competence and enhance my cultural and intercultural awareness. I also
want this to help me learn how to communicate effectively and appropriately to any
audience in local or global context. In this subject, I’m also looking forward on improving
my listening, comprehending, critiquing and speaking with confidence skills so I will be
able to become an effective communicator. I am hoping that this subject could also
somehow motivates me to understand people more even harder despite of
communication barriers that may come along the way. How I wish that throughout this
lesson, I will be able to communicate effectively so I can sooth my way as well as my
relationship towards others by helping me to understand them. Building ties,
friendships, camaraderie, and connections. I’m expecting to learn more about this here
for me to become more open to socializing with other people. I want to learn how to
connect to people correctly and to make strong relationship with them. Besides on
learning more of how to interact and communicate with other people, I also want to
fulfill personal development by being more sensitive to people so I won’t misunderstand
them nor cause them pain or dissatisfactions.

While leaning this, I hope that I could discover more of what I need to know in terms of
global issues and even local that affects communication. Sometimes, there are also
moments in my life that when I’m talking to someone, I don’t know how I respond them
correctly so while diving in the lessons here in Purposive Communication, I hope that I
also learn appropriate terms, expressions and responses when I’m on such a situation.
In this subject, I am aware how important it is to improve our listening skills as well and I
am looking forward for that. I want to learn how to listen to someone without getting
tired or irritated when I don’t like what they’re saying ‘cause there might be a reason
why they do that since we all don’t live with the same culture, belief systems and
etiquette. And more than that, I want to be able to present my thoughts persuasively
using appropriate language registers, tone, gestures and facial expressions. I also want
to include my expectations on the foreign language that I am learning right now as part
of requirement. Here I am expecting to be able to learn that language and to b fluent in
that soon through Purposive Communication.
