Self Emotional Learning is The Transformative Social and Emotional Learning (T-SEL)
competency of self-awareness is the ability to understand one's own emotions, thoughts,
and values and how they influence behavior across contexts.

Social-emotional learning (SEL) is “the process through which all young

people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to
develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and
collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain
positive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.”

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is an educational concept that helps kids gain skills in
important areas beyond math, reading, and other core school subjects. SEL helps kids
identify their feelings, understand and communicate with others, build strong relationships, and
make good, empathetic decisions.
