SYNOPSIS FORMAT
Students should prepare and develop the following parameters for their thesis topics proposal:
1. Title/Thesis Topic
2. Introduction and Background study of the Project/Topic.
3. Aim
4. Objectives
5. Scope and Limitations
6. Literature case studies
7. Thrust Area (Research or special study)
8. Site and details
9. Conclusion
10. Bibliography
1. TITLE/THESIS TOPIC
- State the title of your thesis.
- Mention a concise subtitle phrase that refers to the basis of the idea, context or program
Of your thesis.
3. Aim
It expresses an aspiration or the intention of the study.
Mention the boarder aim (overall intent) of the project/topic.
State the reason why are you doing the project/topic?
Chose a clear domain which helps in determining the desired outcome of the project.
Your aim should be specific and phrased in such a way that it is possible to identify when
It has been achieved.
4. Objective
State the specific statements that you have envisioned for your thesis.
State the issues, concepts and questions that lead to the desired results of the project.
8. Site
- Identification of the site location with the context setting (City, Town, Sub urban or
Rural)
- Site Justification (live or Hypothetical, existing land use, ownership)
- Discretion of the panel/review committee members to finalize the site considering the
relativity, scale, context, scope of the project.
- Comparative Analysis of various sites can be adopted if needed to identify the potential
site.
10. Bibliography
- List the identified and trusted sources used as references so far.
- List the publications/books you have already identified for your literature study.
- List only published or accepted books/papers.
- Never claim contents of the publications/books as your own.
Always give credit where it is due.
