PROJECT INTRODUCTION AND BRIEF

CLIENT BRIEF

Amity University Jaipur is the centre of learning set amidst lush green valley is a treat
for the eyes and the mind.
The University is desirous of building a State-of-the-Art Residential Campus with the right
ambience to promote study and research and provide satisfying living conditions for Students
and Staff. For this purpose, it is proposed to design such a complex by appointment of a
competent architect.

Basic Design Factors

What do the surroundings look like?

 The 150-acre site is located on the Jaipur Delhi Highway


 The nearby village, ACHROL is located at a distance of 5 Km.

Who will use the Campus?

Students across the globe will be welcomed to the campus building a reliable relation with the outer
world.
The campus would be home to many students and families (faculty/ staffs associated to the
educational and administration departments).

Are there any specific design goals?

 Spaces should be left for new buildings in future.

 The Design should lend to a functionally efficient and aesthetically planned campus to work
and live in.

 The campus should essentially be pedestrian and cyclists friendly and barrier free too.

 Shady paths are to be designed in the circulation pattern linking various areas.

 Solar energy is to be utilized to the maximum – like hot water systems, street lighting,
lighting in Faculty residences & Students hostels, daytime lighting of academic areas (battery-
less systems) etc.,

 There should be strategically placed water bodies, parks etc., to create a cool ambience.

 Finishes and detailing of Buildings should be conducive to easy and quick construction.

 State of the Art sewage treatment facility to be incorporated giving treated effluent suitable
for recycling for flush tanks and landscaping.

 Energy efficient features are to be incorporated in all buildings and services.

 All construction is expected to be eligible for 4-star rating as per GRIHA norms or for Gold
Certification of LEED

 All built-up areas should be barrier free to facilitate movement of physically challenged.

 Further, all areas to be designed to aid physically challenged student too since this is an equal
opportunity campus.

The Master Plan should include?


 The circulation pattern and the hierarchy of roads, paths etc.

 Explanatory sketches / drawings to indicate the general shape and size of various buildings.
Major Buildings may be shown in more detail.

 Designated open spaces like parks, playgrounds etc.

 General location of various Engineering Utilities like Electric Sub-Stations, Water Storage

 Sumps(pits) and Treatment & Pumping Stations, Sewage Treatment Plant, Overhead Water
Tanks (if applicable) etc

 Signages should be placed at specific intervals.

 Lighting should be done with a maximum height of 30 feet.

The campus will be designed keeping in mind the aspects of fire safety and campus security
will be managed by authorised guard team and latest technologies will be installed to make
the work more efficient.
