 These two states have completed the implementation of schemes – One Nation One
Ration Card Reforms, Ease of Doing Business Reforms and Urban Local Bodies
Reforms.
 Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance will provide them an additional
Financial Assistance of Rs. 1004 Crore under the newly launched “Special
Assistance to States for Capital Expenditure” scheme.

 India’s First Labour Movement Museum showcases the history of the World Labour

World’s First Quantum Computing Applications Lab:
 Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) has partnered with
Amazon Web Services (AWS) to set up a Quantum Computing Applications Lab in
the Country.
 The lab will be the World’s 1st Quantum Computing Applications Lab to support a
National Government’s Mission.
 India announced National Mission on Quantum Technologies & Applications (NM-
QTA) in the Union Budget 2020-21 with a budget of INR 8000 Crore for a period of
5 years to be implemented by the Department of Science & Technology (DST).
First State to give Power subsidy to farmers:

 Madhya Pradesh has become the first State to give electricity subsidy through
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
 This achievement has made it eligible for additional borrowing equivalent to 0.15%
of its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).
First of its kind National Non-Communicable Disease Monitoring Survey (NNMS)

Punjab’s First Solar-based water supply project:

 With bamboo sticks in hand, the people proceed to rhythmically beat the rice powder,
and occasionally pause to move around the circle
 The people of Tiwa tribe associate the bountiful harvest with the higher power from
nature. This takes the form of pigs' skulls and bones which act as deities and are
preserved through many generations

 Aadi Pooram , also called as Aandal Jayanti is a prime festival of Tamilians

 This festival is dedicated to Goddess Andal, an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi
 The day of Aadi Pooram is also observed as the day of Goddess Shakti as it is believed that
the Goddess herself comes to Earth in this auspicious day, to bless her devotees
World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year:
 World Breastfeeding Week is an annual celebration held every year from August 1 to 7 in
over 120 countries
 Theme: 'Protect Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility'
 The history of this week-long commemoration dates back to the 1990s when the World
Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund
(UNICEF) created the Innocenti Declaration to promote and support breastfeeding.

 Later in 1991, to execute UNICEF and WHO's goals, an association was formed called the
World Association of Breastfeeding Action. In 1992, a whole week was dedicated to
promote this campaign
Odisha's festival that celebrates menstruation and womanhood:
 Raja Parba or Mithuna Sankranti, a 3-day festival to honour womanhood is celebrated

across Odisha
 Mother earth is believed to be menstruating during this period and preparing herself for the
coming agricultural season
Lunar New year Festival celebrated by the people of Manipur:
 Sajibu Cheiraoba is celebrated in Manipur to mark the traditional lunar new year for
followers of the Sanamahism religion
 It is observed in April by the Meitei people on the first day of the lunar month Shajibu

 Ayush Ministry launched the campaign AYUSH AAPKE DWAR

 The campaign aims to distribute medicinal plant saplings to 75 lakh households in one year.
