LESSON PLAN GRADE 8 ENGLISH October 10, 2022

I. OBJECTIVES
1. Point out adjectives in the sentence;
2. Construct sentences with adjectives; and
3. Express feelings or ideas in different situations using adjectives.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Emotive Words: Adjective
References: DepEd TV
Skills to be developed: Creativity, critical thinking, analyzing, time management
Materials: Laptop, television, felt-tip pen, bond paper, scissors, small box

III. LEARNING PROCEDURE


A. Preparation
1. Routine
Prayer and Greetings
2. Attendance and Classroom Management
3. Checking of Assignments
B. Motivation
1. The teacher will introduce the game “Describe What’s in The Picture” by giving a
sample.
2. Play the “Describe What’s in The Picture”.
3. Let the students describe what they observe in the images.
C. Presentation of the Objectives
1. The teacher will present the objectives of the lesson and let the students read them.
a. Point out adjectives in the sentence;
b. Construct sentences with adjectives; and
c. Express feelings or ideas in different situations using adjectives.
2. From the objectives presented, the teacher will ask the students what would be the
topic to be discussed.

IV. PRESENTATION OF THE LESSON


A. Activity
1. The teacher will prepare a box full of alphabet letters. Each student will pick a letter
and write an adjective that starts with the chosen letter.
2. In order for the students to understand, the teacher will provide an example.
4. The teacher will ask 15 students to present the adjective.

B. Analysis
1. Using adjectives in the first activity, the teacher will create a sentence using the
adjectives.
2. The teacher will ask the following questions and elaborate the answers.
a. What is adjective?
b. How adjective function in a sentence?
C. Abstraction
1. The students will watch the instructional video prepared by the teacher.
2. Introduce adjective and its meaning.
3. Explain the function of adjective.
4. The teacher will discuss how to formulate a sentence with an adjective.

D. Application
1. The teacher will present a poem entitled "I Wandered Lonely as A Cloud" by
William Woodsworth. The students will circle the adjective they find in the poem.

V. EVALUATION
A. Underline the adjective/s in a sentence. Write your answer in a ½ sheet of paper.
1. Lelita is witty and optimistic.
2. Mount Fuji is majestic.
3. Gigi is a sweet dog.
5. The watermelon is bright red.
6. The weather is very cold.
7. Green mango is my favorite fruit because it is sourt.
8. The huge TV is placed in my room.
