PLEASE GIVE DETAILS OF ANY RELEVANT VOLUNTARY WORK

I was a member of one of the volunteer organisations called Initium. I played a critical part in providing
winter clothing to approximately 27 hot spot locations in Dhaka, with most residents living below the
poverty line. Apart from that, during the COVID 19 Pandemic, with the help of my friends, we were
able to collect a considerable sum of money to support working-class people by providing them with
basic foodstuffs so that they could prepare their own food since most of them were jobless in such a
time of need.

Essential Criteria (the boxes will expand as you type)

1. 5 GCSE’s at grade C or better including English and Maths, or equivalent.

In one of my part time work experiences, I had to deal several challenges to portray the
concept to the best of my ability while doing an annual presentation to the board of
members regarding cerebral palsy. The reason I chose this as my presentation topic was
because there were several children coming to CRP for the right treatment for cerebral
palsy but unfortunately there was no such dedicated unit within the organization. So,
essentially to give a clear view on this topic along with statistical information it had an
academic demand to create a strong impression on the higher authorities. Since cerebral
palsy was such an unfamiliar diagnosis in Bangladesh, I had the role to emphasize its
importance in the aspect of treatment and creating the need of awareness among the
parents so that we as an organization could have a positive impact on the lives of young
children suffering from such situation. I personally did a survey in the location of Mirpur
area as well as kept the track of patients coming to our clinic for such an issue which
helped me to create a statistical data to be presented. Here the role of GCSE science,
maths and English were very crucial for me to solve all the situations during the time of
explanations to senior members of the organizations with logical, analytical, and
mathematical explanations to show the significance of such a disease. Ultimately, this
timely presentation of mine helped CRP to think about opening a ward dedicated to
cerebral palsy and finally in mid-March 2022 a new ward was opened.

2. A minimum of 1 years’ experience of performing administrative duties in

Finance, HR or general office environment.

During my role as the education operation manager, the main challenge was to ensure the
best quality education being provided to the children belonging to families below the
poverty line and as a result the ability to recruit some well-trained professionals was a
tough task as well since most would hinder to do such a job due to the salary range. This
was one such administrative duty that I took very seriously. The CEO of this organization
had supported me tremendously to campaign for the aspect of recruiting some of the most
talented teachers within the location of Dhaka. Through the aspect of social media
platform, I was able to post about such actions that were to be taken by our company and
this had a massive influence to create a strong publicity for the recruitment. Besides this,
since we had to deal with students from such background it was often tough to generate a
big amount of revenue which in return hampered to morale of most of the teachers. Being
the education operation manager, I had to negate with such situations providing
motivation and mental boost up. There were situations as well where it was tough for the
students to manage their stationary products and due to my role, I was able to convince
most of the book shop owners or the stationary managers that why was this organization
very important which was playing a pivotal role to provide quality-based education to
people from backgrounds.
3. Demonstrate a high level of IT literacy including experience of Microsoft
Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and Outlook.

While working as the Public Relations Student officer at CRP, it was very essential to
maintain all sorts of documentation for the department from my side. Since I did not
have any computer science subject during the period of my GCSEs or A Level it was
overwhelming for me when I was told to produce the power point presentation as part
of annual slide presentation at CRP. The slide was to be presented as an individual
which made it even more daunting task. Luckily enough I prepared myself by taking
help from websites, taking a course in skill share online platform, navigating through
YouTube channels helped me get a positive outcome in such a thing. Besides this,
during one the Olympiad event in school I had the role of managing all clerical
documents using advanced skills in Microsoft Office to create, edit and print
correspondence for the students taking part in nationwide Olympiad competition. I was
able to create marketing materials for upcoming events using intermediate skills
obtained through certification in Microsoft Publisher. Apart from this, communicating
with team members, including scheduling, with intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook
was something I was able to do consistently without any delays while working at CRP.

4. Good communication skills.

Communication is one of the important tools to succeed in today’s world. Specifically,

while working at CRP, I understood that it is one of the invaluable assets which can have
an extremely positive effect. Since I was given the task to raise awareness programmes at
various schools regarding numerous issues faced by students, I also had to deliver
speech which was very pivotal for the success of such programmes. Essentially while
talking about mental health related implications or about effects and remedies of cyber
bullying often these can be quite tough to understand for students of younger age and as
a result it is a bit of challenge to communicate with this category of people effectively.
Since I had affiliations with numerous student-based activities in the school so thankfully
the experience of providing such lectures on these topics by bringing my intellectual level
to their level was something I was able to do successfully. I did prepare myself as well
before providing such seminars to these kids to produce an effective rapport or an
interactive based seminars upon such issues. At the same time while dealing with patients
at the CRP branch regarding any queries it often can become volatile to deal with patients
when they become aggressive and at that point the aspect of empathy and talking to them
in a very cordial manner is also something very crucial which I have demonstrated there
as well for a long time. These combined aspects of communication have been able to
bring fruitful changes in the community as well as helped to better the rapport among the
patients with the organization.

5. Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise own workload when faced with
competing requests and deadlines.
It is quite crucial to meet the demands when there are competing requests and deadlines
for any situation in life. Here the aspect of working on own initiative and prirotising own
workload is also very important while facing such a scenario. Often during my work
experiences there would be a situation where I had to a report writing or an article about
the day-to-day activities taking place in our department or a developmental story for our
organizations. At times, it was bit daunting specially with studies and other important
works being there at the same time but since I worked for an organization which was
committed to carry out all sorts of activities to the very best of their abilities hence, I often
had to prirotise the work of office over anything else. But for any deadlines that had been
announced previously, I would try to work my way through from the initial stage rather
than trying to show up at the end for any sort of objectives that I would have been set.
One such incident happened where the department head told me to produce a 4500
words article on the overall history of Public Relations office at CRP. Since this was
something new for me, I took my time out for the aspect of research, talking to people
from various positions of the organization, talking to patients and finally gathering all the
information to solidify the article that was there for me to be completed. Various projects
also had similar situations specially the one helping with hum rubella-based vaccination
programme at our programme where I was given the role to produce poster presentations
to make the thing more aware among people. Overall, it improved the quality of the work.
