Lesson Reflection / Evaluation:
This lesson was engaging because students were able to participate by using a special map
reader. They were able to name the parts of the compass. Students were able to relate it to the
distance they travel from home to school. Also, by reading with them the story about That map!
Help them understand how important it is to use a map. However, one of the struggles I
encountered during this lesson was for my Spanish, speaking students that were having a little
difficulty reading the map because they are not able to understand English very well. I can have
these same students practising reading a map by creating games that will motivate them to use a
map when necessary.
