Was a Polish composer of the
Romantic Period (c. 1820-1900.)
He composed many works for the
piano, an instrument upon which
he was a virtuoso. His last name is
French, his father being from
france. Chopin (pronounced
“show-pahn”) himself
relocatedfrom Poland to Paris
when he was 21, residing there
until his death at the age of 39. He
died of tuberculosis
(consumption.) Chopin included
the piano in all of his compositions, most of them for solo piano. He
often incomprated elements og polish dance music into his works,
such as the polonaise and mazurka. His studies, originally as
technical study pieces, are so musical that they are still performed as
concert works. At his request, his heart was remove from his body in
paris and smuggled into Poland. It was stolen by germans during
WWII but was returned after the war.

Franz Liszt (October 22, 1811 -

composer, virtuous pianist,
conductor, tertiary in the
Franciscan order, and
Hungarian teacher who
became known throughout
Europe for his dominant musical
performances. by piano. From
1859 to 1867, he was formally
called Franz Ritter von Liszt. He
was one of the most important
musicians of the 19th century. He was the greatest pianist of his time
and went to many performances in various places in Europe, where
many people filled the concert halls to hear his playing. He wrote a
lot of music for the piano. Many of his piano pieces are more difficult
to play than anything written in the past. In this way, he created and
developed the technique of playing the piano, so that he was able
to set and apply new standards for the future. In his compositions, he
often used new ideas that sounded very modern in his day. He was
very helpful to other composers who lived in his day; he helped them
become more recognizable by him conducting their works and
playing some of their orchestral pieces through the piano.

Romantic composer, primarily of
opera. He was one of the most
influential composers of the 19th
century. His works are often
played in opera houses around
the world and, transcending the
boundaries of genre or form,
some of his themes have long
been rooted in popular culture -
such as "La donna è mobile".

La traviata. Although his work is sometimes ridiculed for using a

theorist, and essayist, but
better known for his operas.
To this day his music
remains staged. The most
famous of these are the
“Ride of the Valkyries” from
Die Walküre and the “Bridal Chorus” from Lohengrin. He is
also very controversial. First, because of his changes in music
and drama, and second, because of his being an
outspoken advocate of anti-semitic or anti-Jewish ideas.

November 6, 1893.
