1. Why did you choose this quote? What does it mean to you?

This quote has been narrated by Seneca, a Roman Stoic Philosopher. I decided to choose
this quote because I solemnly believe that it is necessary for a human to enjoy life to its
fullest, and to count all the blessings that life gives us rather than complaining about the
ups and downs of it. We may be alive for a certain period of time, but the thing that
matters most is how we live it, how we enjoy each moment of our life, and how we
appreciate everything that comes our way. The small memories which we make by
enjoying life, which may kind of look pointless at that time, are going to be something that
when we grow up are going to remember and miss!

This quote means a lot to me because whenever I read this quote, it always encourages
me to have fun, enjoy life, do stuff that makes me happy, and to make countless memories.
We don’t know for how long we are going to live but if we enjoy those moments of life and
focus on the positive things in it, each second would matter.

● Studying history helps us to understand events in the past better and how the
past has helped to shape our present and future.
● We learn about ourselves, develop the ability to avoid mistakes, and create
better paths for society.
● History should also be studied because it is essential to individuals and
culture, and also harbors beauty.
● We also research history because past events have an impact on us today and
also learn about the types of clothes, food, and shelter our ancestors used to
have.

Assignment #3 History
1. The first farmer was probably a woman. Why?

The first farmer was probably a woman because they used to gather the seeds, plant
them, and harvest their new growth. Women were likely the first ones to have seeds
because they used to collect fruits, berries, and grasses, whereas men used to go
hunting.

What did she observe that may have led her to the idea of farming?

They probably noticed that if they took some of the seeds and put them in the
compost pits or left them on the ground, they grew, this may have led her to the idea
of farming.

Assignment #5 History
Military Mobilization In Russia

Today I will reflect on the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. I do not
support the idea of war between countries as wars lead to the destruction of
cities, and the killing of people. The war began in the middle of February and has
been going on since then, even though it is not supported by any other officials
around the world. In recent weeks, Ukraine has captured large amounts of
territory, and in response to that Russian President, Putin has mandated 3000
Russians to join the army. This is not a good idea because it can result in the
death of those who are inexperienced and untrained. We should be finding
methods to reduce the war, not encourage it!

1. Do you think a 4-day work-week/school week is better? Explain.

In my opinion, this is a good idea because students/employees can be out of

school/work one extra day per week, which allows them to relax and be more
productive and leads to a less stressful environment. It also allows employees to
spend more time with their families, the extra day could also be used for
professional development. Students can use it for special tutoring or enriching
activities. Overall, I believe that a 4-day work-week/school week is better!

a. Are tech companies too powerful and who should be responsible

for harmful content on the web?

I think the person who posts harmful content on the web should be blamed
rather than the tech companies because they have their policies and following
their policies while using their applications is what we must do and try our best to

not violate them. We should be careful of what we post on the web because at
times it can be misleading, it is not possible for tech companies to keep track of
everything’s that getting posted on their platforms, so we should be careful of
what we post!

a. If you were part of The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian

Affairs (OCHA) of the UN Secretariat, then you are responsible for
coordinating responses to emergencies.
i. What ideas would you bring to the committee to address this
situation in Nigeria? How would you make sure people would
get help as soon as possible?

I would declare this situation a national emergency as this flood can affect many
people's lives. We can also take precautionary measures by moving the people
who are situated in flood-prone areas to safer grounds and building a proper
drainage structure to avoid such situations in the future. People might have a
three-day supply of food to prevent catastrophic food insecurity and improved
communication technologies to stay in touch with their relatives.
