REACTION PAPER The Founder Movie (2016)

McDonald's is known to be the largest fast-food chain across the globe. It is founded by two
American brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald. They starts by selling hamburgers, fries, and drinks,
and the customers recognized them because of their fast service and one of them is the person named
Ray Kroc. Because of McDonald's good performance in serving their customer, Ray Kroc a businessman
wants to negotiate with two brothers. He wants to expand the business and start to franchise it. Ray
Kroc is known to be optimistic and that helps him to be a great businessman. He is also a great socializer,
he talks to people with confidence and assurance.

The movie “The Founder” tells the story of how McDonald's expanded and become one of the
successful fast-food chains. I learned that building a business is not as easy as you think, it requires a lot
of hard work. The story tells that before you become successful you have to overcome all the obstacles
and solve them wisely. I admired the idea of the two brothers when they start to build and run their
business, I admired how they plan the operation of their business and how they teach and train their
employees in terms of serving their customers. They love to build and run a business of two brothers is
inspirational but it is so sad to think that they are afraid to take a risk in expanding their small business.
They already stop when they experience failure but I cannot blame them because managing a business
is not that easy especially if you want to stick to providing a quality product and service for your
customer. To order to follow the system they need to monitor it 24/7 which is hard for them because
communication and transportation are not that high-tech at that time. On another side, when Ray Kroc
comes he do his best to convince the two brothers to franchise their business. I admired Kroc’s
confidence and determination to run a business. He is a great businessman because he is willing to take
all the risks even if that risk is to sell his house. At first, I don’t like the idea of Kroc’s because what if he
did not succeed, it may affect his personal life as well as the life of people that he talk with about
franchising McDonald's. But in the end, I learned that his idea change many people’s lives, and taking a
risk is not that bad. I also admired how McDonald's manage to stick to their system which is to serve
quality products in a faster way.

Nowadays, when you build a business you have to expect that competitors are everywhere and think
of a unique idea for your business to stay and succeed. As a person, it is not bad to take a risk as long as
you have the confidence, determination, and ability to overcome all the challenges that come to you.
For you to succeed, you have to believe.
