Introduction

The story revolves on how Ray Krocs, a salesman, managed to turn a restaurant franchise

into a food giant in the industry. The original founders of McDonald’s are Richard and Maurice

McDonald (Dick and Mac), have lost their own creation due to lack of innovativeness and

apparent contentment but were still able to keep their integrity as siblings and business owners

by holding on their beliefs and gracefully accepting defeat against a ruthless but clever

salesman-turned-businessman Ray Krocs. Additionally, being as bold and visionary as Krocs,

Joan Smith became his new wife. Kroc’s secretary June Matino essentially turned to become a

part owner of the McDonald’s Corporation and Fred Turner, just a former cook-turned-

associate, thrived to be a Senior Chairman who stretched McDonald’s operations

internationally. The movie of “The Founder” is all about the struggling salesman from Illinois.

One of the contents that I will remember in this movie is the persistence of the founder of

McDonalds. Because the founder is the person behind the success of biggest fast food chain the

McDonalds and this illustrious and huge brand he created when he was in his fifties. Being

keeping his priorities straight was really expanding his franchise business he did what most do,

he also contacted a super rich. He went to their clubs, parties and pitched the idea of

McDonalds speedy system and partnership benefits. And being a season salesman was able to

get them interested.

When I hear about this movie that we need to watch, I didn’t even know that there was a

story like this not until I watched a movie. Actually, I expected in this movie was a little boring

because it’s very classic, it’s very old, I feel bored because it’s all about history of McDonalds

and I think some of other people will not interested in the first place in this movie. It’s not the

feel-good movie of this year, but it’s clearly eyed and concise as well as it’s important and

informative. But, once you watched that movie its very amazing for every entrepreneur, its

inspirational to other people who wants to start a business. The Founder is not only giving you

life lessons and but also few paths breaking business lessons. Well after watching this movie, I

kind a view McDonald’s differently now compared to the previously.

The main idea of my reflection paper about this movie is nothing in the world can take the

place of Persistence. Talent will not nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with

talent. Genius will not, unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not, the world is

full of educated derelicts.

Body

One of the scenes that will impress to me, he never thinks twice in investing and protecting

the brand, commonly known as trademark. It really impresses to the audience also because, He

teaches us to be cautious before entering into agreements. He teaches us the benefits of

formation of new legal entity and of course the selection of appropriate company structure. I

also feel bad for those two brothers’ who started it. Its painful to see something like that goes

away who started from zero. Its always difficult. At least they should have got 1% what was

promise. But great lesson and motivation to be honest.

Ray’s life is a true embodiment of struggles of every budding entrepreneur and startups

face-even in today’s times. How pivoting the idea from its original plan and embracing change is

the back bone of any sustaining business. While McDonalds brothers were genius inventors of

their speedy system. It was Ray Crocks determination which created a new market of fast food

franchise out of thin air. It’s such an inspiration to other entrepreneurs, because, the moment

he cancelled his club membership to build network with the middle-class people and gave them

opportunity is so good. Just imagine how much would have that guy gone through before he

became successful. This movie is just a small fraction of his real story. Apparently, he was a real

failure as a businessman. He was lucky to come across somebody else’s idea and profited off of

it. Kroc had to deal with many different challenges over the development of the McDonald

empire. Some how I am not impressed with the way ray cheated two brothers who trusted him

so much and snatched their business. It was hard work of two brothers and they should have

got the credit. Ray cheated brother’s, his wife and was hot headed after money and fame came

in which anyways was not his. I mean I feel bad for them.

Watching a movie was a whole different kind of experience. I get to learn some important

dos and don’ts in business and this is not only in Ray’s side but to the McDonalds brothers as

well This is Ray Crocks comes re-imagines the whole fast food business and created the

McDonald Corporation we see today. We are never too old to follow your dreams. Meaning,

while it’s the young tech company super stars that seem to get the press as overnight success.

In real life we need to be ambitious but not ruthless. Because, success at any cost is

accompanied ultimately by regret and loneliness. You don’t have to put your competitors out of

business to excel. Don’t leave a wake of destruction on your way to success. Be persistent but

do it the right way. The movie of The Founder, it would influence the world globally by

spreading fast food culture in the world. He saw a big opportunity where others would not trust

him or invest in it because of his previous failures. It shows in life that no matter how much you

get rejected in life, there might always be an opportunity for you out there.

Conclusion

When I just finished watching a movie of ‘The Founder’ and it’s got me thinking about the

power of unconventional thinking. The story of how one man turned a small fast-food chain

into a global empire is a testament to the impact of creative problem-solving and unrelenting

determination. In the end, Rey Kroc outsmarted the brothers and manage to acquire the brand,

make a fortune out of it, and become successful, or so he taught. Ray Kroc’s acquisition of his

first franchise from the brothers would serve as the stepping stone for his bigger acquisition of

Mcdonalds in the years to come. When dick and his partner notice that the franchise of the real

founder of their product was growing, they started to be greed, and asking for to much of

percent which the founder cant give to them because, its still a small business and the founder

was working so hard to get an investors for establishing more franchise in different place. But

this brother’s was nothing doing for their product. There is some business ideas to learn from

Ray Kroc but, that’s really unfair to see. The real McDonald brother unable to prove their

handshake deal, the brother’s never received their royalties. That’s really sad that’s the bitter

truth that who are good at heart are always lose. He steal the identity the name from real

McDonald brothers. There is nothing more heart breaking.

Kroc is businessman who was struggled to the business. Kroc is villain opportunist. Most of

what he did stealing. He steals the concept, name, symbol, and the lecture by someone else.

But of course, I guess with hard work, you earned money. Like he said dog eat dog rat eat rat.

Feel very sad from the McDonald Brother. I also feel that he is in the same level with Leo in wall

of wall street. Just so eager to win.

First of all, The Founder, being the title, is very intentional as to question and critique such a

label. Having watched the movie and further researched the story, Ray Krocs is not the founder

of McDonald’s; with that we shall all agree. Surely we can credit him for his wit and persistence,

but we shall not forget the true founders and genuine principles of McDonald’s. Despite not

being much applicable today, the film, its narrative, and composition, still moves and holds the

viewers to reflect, assess, and even account personal choices with regards to career,

relationship, and values and virtues one practices as an individual. Was Ray Krocs really

successful? Indeed he succeeded at his vision, but can we conveniently claim that that is a

success already? The Founder may have given a stance on the essence of integrity on success,

but it surely exhibited the impact of persistence and determination in life! One of the most

important that I need to learn is the importance of patience. Patience is defined as an

individual’s ability to wait for something significant to happen without filling frustrated due to

the delay. In life, we need to wait for a lot of things without feeling negative.
