and plant biomass.
It contributes to reducing carbon
dioxide from the atmosphere and
emissions of GHGs. Consequently,
regenerative agriculture improves the
resilience of farmland to climate change
and thus benefits farmers’ livelihoods.

How will Nestlé monitor the road to regenerative agriculture?

Regenerative agriculture is an emerging concept still requiring further scientific research and consensus.
Therefore, we aim at tracking both the implementation level of the desired practices, together with the
tangible impacts observed at field level in the real farming conditions. Monitoring both processes and
outcomes will enable us to ensure the right intervention at the right place. Scientific community, National
Agriculture Research Organisations and expert third parties will be key partners in this endeavor.
