Module Number 6 Content Topic Pyramid and Cone
Teacher GENED Kristine Zacarias Date November 17, 2022

PART 1. EVALUATE
1. In your own words, differentiate the meaning of a pyramid and cone.

- So, the difference between a pyramid and a cone is that a cone has an infinite number of sides while

a pyramid has four sides. Although cones are sometimes used incorrectly because they are similar in

some ways, such as having a flat side at the bottom.

Solve the problems with complete solutions.

1. Find the volume of a pyramid whose base is an equilateral triangle 12 inches on each side and whose

altitude is 50 inches.

𝑎+𝑏+𝑐
𝑆= 2

12+12+12
𝑆= 2

𝑆 = 18 𝑖𝑛𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑠

𝐴= 𝑆(𝑆 − 𝑎)(𝑆 − 𝑏)(𝑆 − 𝑐)

𝐴= 18(18 − 12)(18 − 12)(18 − 12)

𝐴= 18(6)(6)(6)

𝐴= 3888

𝐴 = 62. 35 𝑠𝑞. 𝑖𝑛.
